Somerville, VA I'm 32, almost 33, and in some of the worst shape of my life as of about six months ago. I was about 225lbs and a lazy couch potato.

When I got a new job that didn't require me driving 100+ miles a day back and forth to work, and instead only about fifteen miles from home, I started biking. Within the next four to five months I had dropped about 25 pounds and my stamina and endurance was MUCH improved.
But I didn't want it to stop there. I remember about four nights in a row waking up around 3am, having left the television on, and each time I woke up, Tony Horton was spewing on and on about P90X. First night I turned the television off in disgust, always laughing at "silly fitness infomercials" and thinking them as nothing more than get-rich schemes for the creators. Second night I actually watched it for twenty minutes or so before swapping the channels. The third night I really started thinking about things and before I knew it I was plugging a credit card number into the BeachBody.com website.
I'm on my fifth day now and I am utterly speechless on how effective this training is. I'm a single dad, raising two girls, one and three, on my own. I work a full-time job and have all the regular duties of a person such as grocery shopping and house maintenance, as well as getting kids back and forth to day care and doctors appointments. I would never have the time or energy in my day to visit a gym. I barely spare the time to bicycle to work!
Now, on my fifth morning, I enjoy waking up at 5am to start my workouts. I'm eating healthier and as a result, so are my girls! I get my workouts in before they're even awake and get to sit down afterwords for a nice healthy breakfast with them before I send them off to school! And all of this is in the comfort of my own home!
As a former Marine, I have to say I haven't seen this level of intensity in a workout since boot camp. I'm very pleased I took the plunge on P90X and will continue through it to the end and beyond!

I was over 210lbs a few months before I started P90X. A blown truck forced me to start bike riding to work for a short time and I came to liking it. I dropped about 25lbs in six months or so commuting back and forth to work and realized I had more energy and generally felt better about myself.
So I decided to take it further. I started P90X on June 15th, 2009 and can't believe the transformation I'm seeing in myself. I'm nearly eight weeks in now and have no plans on stopping or slowing down. I'm still commuting 10-20 miles a day back and forth to work along with P90X Doubles and loving every minute of it.
So far, I've been doing well balancing a full-time job, biking, two workouts most days and being a full-time dad to one and three year old daughters. While tough, it is all definitely worth it. I'm already looking forward to the progress round two will bring!
