Back in 1999 my true journey towards fitness began. Back in 1999 my true journey towards fitness began. I had played sports in high school so I never really had to worry about what I ate or how much & of course the exercise was taking care of itself. But in 1999 after being out of college for a year & not changing my eating & not exercising, my previously 6'0" 180 pound self had gotten up to 245 pounds! I carried it pretty well, so it wasn't until I saw the spare tire in the mirror instead of in my car that I knew something had to change. I immediately began a program of portion control to teach myself how to eat less. Over the following year I dropped a significant amount of weight, but was still not anywhere near what I wanted to be. Over the next several years I continued losing a little weight here & there until I got into the 190's. At that point I realized just focusing on what I was eating was not enough. Thus began the 2nd stage of my journey towards fitness - learning how to workout. Since that time (approx 2002) I've tried various exercise routines with some success and have been maintaining a weight in the 180's for the last several years. In my journey, I've been searching for a program that combines the nutrition aspect w/the exercise aspect so I could have a more true road map to actual health & fitness. Enter P90X the fall of 2009. I'd been seeing the infomercials for awhile, but wasn't sure if it was something I really wanted to put myself through. Long story short, my sister and now brother-in-law did the program prior to their wedding and said they were able to see results, so I decided to bite the bullet. I ordered my P90X plan and began 9/28/09. So far it's been a butt-kicking good time. I'm looking forward to seeing myself at day 90, so until then I'll keep pressing play & bring it!

Rocked it on through to Day 90! The best part might be just knowing I did it each & every day. I definitely feel better & know my conditioning has improved. It was worth every minute. Now time to stay focused and build upon the X foundation.

UPDATE:
As of 10/12/10 I've been on Beachbody programs for just over 1 year. I've completed P90X, INSANITY and am now mixing it up with the P90X One on One workouts. It's been an amazing process so far & I'm looking forward to continually challenging my mind & body to get better each and every day.
