Montreal, QC This is a big step for me! Usually, I do the weight loss thing behind closed doors and without being accountable to anyone. I figure now that if I am more open, then I will have people who are expecting something from me and this must help me to keep pushing play! I've been doing Power90 religiously since 8th March. I figure now that if I am more open, then I will have people who are expecting something from me and this must help me to keep pushing play! I've been doing Power90 religiously since 8th March. I've also added some Yoga Booty Ballet as I like the stretch and feeling of peace that the yoga and meditation gives me. I travel a lot for work and this usually stalls my progress, but so far have survived three business trips and haven't missed a day. I was thin for much of young life, very active but also had a strange relationship with food... was anorexic in my teens, so food is a chore for me not a delight! When I get busy, I don't eat, when I don't eat, I don't need to eat so body goes into starvation mode. I have been busy for way too long! So instead of looking after myself and being good enough to myself to make great meals etc I was just not eating anything at all or a bagel in the morning and again in the evening, with not much in between - or just the wrong things in between. Managed to get to 222lbs and not happy with myself. So started seriously P90 on 8th March along with a diet - as in eat more diet. I am currently eating 6+ times a day and for the first time in for ever now actually feel hungry at the right times. Today I started Shakeology too, but will see how that goes. I haven't missed a day, so far lost 13 lbs, and quite a few inches all over. I moved to level 3/4 last week and it is tough, and in some ways feeling like I want to see results even quicker... but I am just being impatient. So my aim is to get to 170, as at 5'9 with my body type I look really skinny at that weight and these days am actually happy with curves. I love having boobs (can I say that on here:-) and a butt, just want less of them - well less butt anyway... the girls can stay! Could definitely do with some inspiration on the tough days - and my my my, is Phase 3/4 tough. It's been my first week, and I've done it all the way through keeping up, but some days my intensity is less than others. Think I need to readjust the carb/protein balance. So that's me.. aiming big, totally impatient to get to Day 90 so I can add up my inches and weight loss like the success stories on the site and then I think I am going to start Chalene Extreme... my aim is to do P90X before the end of the year! I could do about 4 push ups when I first started and now can do incline push ups and knock out about 25 on the max it out part and aiming for more every day... so yeah, P90X bring it on:-)

Update 23 October 2011 - wow it's been over a year since I updated here. Though nothing was written... a helluva lot has been done! I kept on keeping on - setting new goals and striving to reach them. I finished P90X and Insanity and this year started to train for a Body Building Competition. This actually meant joining a gym! How weird is that:-) But as we know, it is also the nutrition that is key. So after LIFTING HEAVY (thanks Chalene Extreme for preparing me somewhat) and killing the cardio (could never have done this without beachbody!) I hit the stage 85lbs down from where I started in March 2010 and TOOK FIRST PLACE IN MY First figure competitionn. Now my goal is to get my pro card in 2012. It's a whole NEW WOLRD and that all started with my whole new life with Beachbody. IT works it really does. I have had so many comments on my before and after pics... people disbelieving or thinking it was only the lies they told in commercials! No, it's real, it's hard work, but it WORKS! Onwards and upwards:-)
Update - 21st September ... I have officially finished 90 days of CLX and Turbo Fire, but will be continuing on to 100 days as then I have decided... *DRUM ROLL PLEASE* to become a P90Xer and will start on 1st October. Very excited but scared at the same time. I can't believe it, as I know that just 6 months ago I could not even have contemplated this! So thanks Beachbody!!! Trouble is, I can't stray too far from Chalene... so will probably sub some cardio with Turbo Fire as I am OFFICIALLY addicted! The last month of CLX was amazing... the programme is true to its word and LEAN is not the word... lost so many inches everywhere and the difference is sooo noticeable. I am now wearing clothes that I have had for 20 years... Don't worry I don't have bad taste or look like a throw back to the 80's (I think!!) but it is just a miracle that these clothes that I kept "for when I lose THE WEIGHT" actually now fit and some are TOO BIG. I keep having to do a double take when I see my reflection. The me on the outside now matches the me on the inside! When I start P90X (with a sense of trepidation) I am going to do regular blogs... it's real people and it's here - we in the Beachbody community know (and apparently Michelle Obama knows too, as she is doing P90X - HOW COOL IS THAT!!) But I want to continue to share my own story far and wide. Can't be a coach yet (living in Canada) but can still REPRESENT. KPP Folks... Update - 29th August... Well I am still here, and no longer counting days, though WOWY does let me know what day it is! Now it's just another day, where a workout is obligatory, normal, part of my life, something I can't do without for long. I am still doing the CLX and TF hybrid.. been travelling for the past few weeks, well mostly a month, and have kept on track. Hotel gyms, hotel bedrooms, my mum's living room and my sister's living room too! No excuses, just bringing it. The hardest thing was doing CLX without my Select Techs... can you believe one hotel actually had them in there, felt so blessed! I did buy the resistance bands, but unlike with P90, I find it very difficult to do CLX with bands. In the end I bought some weights at my mum's, but have been spoiled by just being able to click to the weight I want to use without unscrewing and rescrewing weights each time! Anyway, it worked in the end, and am finally in the Lean phase of CLX... This is TOUGH! But the benefits are EXTREME... great guns... abs and strong core... and wore those jeans for the first time in a gazillion years. Even bought another pair of cropped pants and rocked those too! I bought a dress on Saturday and though I have been trying to not buy too much stuff before reaching my goal (under 20lbs to go now) I loved this dress and it was a size 8!!! Before I started my BB way of life, I wasn't fitting into a 14, read... didn't want to believe I was a 16. So I am really pleased... trying not to watch the scale, but to watch the inches and change in shape and definition. BB has given me soooo much, and I can't wait until us folks here in Canada can become coaches, so I can officially give back to the rest of the BB community. I am already thinking of my next programme - though TF is keeping me busy till November as I am doing the advance programme... So I am thinking of becoming an Insaniac as well as a Turbo Extremist! I actually went for a run a couple of days ago, something I had not done for a long time. Did just over two miles, and was very happy with that! So here's to getting our lives back.. here's to pushing play... and living and loving every day. Update - 18th July, I AM LOVING TURBO FIRE!!! I am truly addicted and press play more than once a days sometimes!! I am also doing Chalean Extreme.. see a theme here, yes thank you Chalene Johnson!!! The feeling of lifting heavy weights is AWESOME and the muscle definition I am getting is so rewarding. I have now lost 38.5lbs and feel great. Lower blood pressure (for the first time in YEARS) low resting heart rate, and bought a pair of JEANS for the first time in over a decade!! Funny enough people always used to ask me why I wouldn't wear jeans... I mean who doesn't own a pair. Well my answer was, the problem is all BEHIND me, now it really is behind me... one DVD at a time. Thanks to Beachbody. So keeping on keeping on and so feeling so blessed to have found something I love so much that is so good for me!! Update - 18th June, day 102! Woo hoo, finished P90 and doubled up on TJ for a week before starting CEX! I love Chalene, but she is making me curse when I am doing those slow burning moves. What a sense of accomplishment though. Currently doing TJ in the mornings and CEX in the evenings. Soooo excited as just ordered Turbo FIRE and expect to have it soon. So will be doing a hybrid of CEX and TF... Thinking of running a 5k or 10k. I want to incorporate my newly rediscovered sense of athleticism into my life. I have currently lost 31 lbs with another 30 to go.
I am now on the home stretch of P90. I try to bring it every day, upping intensity and weights and depths and heights:-) I have not missed a day, despite travel to three continents within three weeks! I am also now doing some turbo jam in the evenings and still the occasional YBB. I have now lost 21lbs and about 25 inches. I say the final stretch, but actually it's all just beginning. Eating well (for me even just eating regularly is good), living a healthy life and setting long term goals... thinking of doing a 10k run at some point. So thank you BB and to my fellow "kids" keep pressing play! (May 13th, 2010)
