I was born and raised in Las Vegas, NV. I am happy to say I am surrounded by a wonderful family and a great circle of friends. Six years ago I was blessed with my son Jacob. He is amazing and makes me so proud every day. But with my pregnancy came sixty pounds that I wasn't used to carrying around. I lost a good portion of it fairly quickly but the last thirty pounds took up permanent residence on my body. Since then I have fluctuated in my weight, up and down, within a 20 pound range. I wouldn't say I was a very athletic person but I was definitely more active than I have been lately.
I decided to join a gym and get a trainer; that lasted for about six to eight months. Then I couldn't find the time, I didn't have the motivation, I didn't have the help, and I'm sure you get the gist of it. When I had my body fat content measured I was surprised to find that I was almost 30% body fat. I didn't think I looked like I was 30% fat, but I know that I felt like I was.
I feel what I'm sure a lot of other mother's feel, tired, worn out, lethargic, too busy, a little like an insomniac and maybe a little crazy at times. So I've decided to put the brakes on my run away unhealthy train. That's why I'm here.
I haven't exercised in almost a year. I have owned P90X now for almost a year and a half; I'm finally going to put it to use.
I am looking forward to the challenge and hope to make some connections with other men and women experiencing the life altering changes that come with taking care of yourself!
