Hi everyone! I'm Gail, and I am thrilled to share my story with you. I have been a certified childbirth educator since 1995 and a certified fitness trainer since 2008. I am also the niece, granddaughter and daughter of 3 men who died of heart attacks, and the daughter of a mother with heart disease.
I have never been a stranger to the gym, starting to lift weights and take cardio classes when I was still in high school. My goals were always for improved image and health, but the emphasis on those two things has shifted over the years. My interest in achieving optimal health rose above my desire to look great in a bathing suit as I got older. Don't get me wrong... I'm still critical of my appearance, and motivated by the person I see in the mirror. However, I can honestly say that when I work out now, my internal voice is usually asking "how much do you want to FEEL like you're 20?", not "how much do you want to LOOK like you're 20?".
A few years ago I became frustrated with my perception of reaching a plateau in my fitness regimen. I had mastered much of the workouts I was doing. Being intrigued by the body's relationship with food, I began to inquire about ways to change my diet, even though I already ate well. I had a basic understanding that what and when I ate could influence my ability to change my body and gain more stamina and muscle. Unfortunately, with all my reading and asking people at the gym, I still did not know how to implement a change.
I had seen the infomercials for P90X on TV, and decided to do more research. (I don't typically make rash decisions... I research everything!!) These were the things that impressed me the most... Although many of the before and after pictures showed the huge changes for those that appeared overweight, many were people like myself, who seemed to be somewhat fit to begin with. The "afters" for these people were just as apparent. Regardless of the starting point, the transformations included obvious body sculpting and muscle building, not just weight loss. I also loved that nutrition (very smart nutrition), in relation to exercise, was equally emphasized. So, I ordered it, and when it arrived, my very skeptical husband and I pored over the fitness and nutrition guides, and came to the conclusion that this was the "real deal". We began our first 90-day journey on October 1, 2007, finishing on New Year's Eve of that year, strictly following the guidelines throughout.
You will not find two more enthusiastic advocates of P90X and Beachbody products. Six days a week, since that fateful day, we have, with few exceptions, incorporated a Beachbody workout in our exercise routine, adding in P90X Plus, One-On-One with Tony, Turbo Fire, Insanity, RevAbs, Brazil Butt Lift and Les Mills Pump and Combat. In return, we have enjoyed increased strength, agility, stamina and flexibility. I was not in need of losing any substantial weight to begin with, but I did lose 4 lbs. I also went down two sizes (from a 28 to a 26) in my jeans. I reached the goal of gaining muscle and transforming my body. Most important, Beachbody has educated me and set me on the path to great, healthy habits, which has inspired me to consistently step out of my comfort zone and try new things.
My husband ("CoachScottJ")and I have since become Beachbody Coaches. Throughout the course of our busy days, we are able to earn money sharing information, helping and motivating people to improve their health and get in the best shape of their lives. It's the most amazing, limitless business opportunity on the planet!
This is my message to you... You can't control every aspect of your life, and there are no magic pills... but, if a formula for excellent health (the most important of life's goals) and success is presented to you, consider it a gift and open it immediately. It can, without a doubt, change your life.
My father died suddenly at the age of 63, five months before my wedding. I lived through many, many years of health struggles with my mom, who recently passed away on March 27, 2013. We are all products of our experiences, and because of my own, I will continue to take control to eliminate the risk of repeating the histories of my loved ones, and I will never stop paying it forward to those who would like my support.
It is my most sincere objective to encourage and support you in your own quest for excellent health. I do not just want to be a coach in name only. I am happiest when I am helping, so put me to work! I will do everything in my power to help you reach your fitness goals.
I plan on having the same amazing quality of life that I have now, maintaining my health, my strength and my energy forever. How about you?
