I like P90X. This journey began for me about a year ago. I was in OK shape, but wanted to try a new program that would keep me motivated. I also wanted to shed a few pounds around the the old gut. So far I've had great success in gaining strength, but not such good results with the weight loss. I've never been much of a dieter, so I've struggled a bit along the way. Don't get me wrong, I don't

Wow, where to start. I guess it all begins with a bad day, and you feel like crap because you can't run fast enough to keep up with your kids, or you put on that pair of pants, that just doesn't fit anymore. You look in the mirror and ask yourself, what happed to me? I use to be in great shape?? We all have those moments, and I guess thats what it takes to finally motivate us to make the changes necessary to improve our health. My journey started a few months before my 49th birthday. I went through what I described above. I have a daughter who is very active in martial arts, and I wanted to keep up with her. I didn't want to be one of those dads that didn't participate in your kids life. I wanted to be an intrical part of her growing up, so that meant I had to be in better shape to do it. Late one night I watched the P90X infomercial and was instantly drawn to the stories that people were telling. Needless to say, I picked up the phone, and the P90X package arrived a few days later. I started the program in May 2008. I struggled at first, but kept pushing myself, and made it through the first 90 days. Then the 2nd 90 days, and finally the 3rd 90 days. AFter the 3rd round, I took a little over a month off to heal some tired bones. Now I'm on round 4. There's still some exercises that I have trouble with, but I improvise as needed and do the best I can. My plans is to keep pushing play as often as I can, and continue to improve even if it's a little bit at a time. I feel alot better than I did a year ago. My energy has increased ten fold. If I keep it up, I'll eventually reach my goals. I'll be 50 next week, and I'm very happy to know I made it an entire year doing P90X. Maybe I'll stick to the diet a little better this year? Anyway, if an old dude like me can do it, so can you. One day at a time, just do the best you can. Good Luck!
