Puyallup, WA I am a 41 year old married man and I have a six year old daughter. I have a back ground rooted in sports. I have done football, wrestling, track, basketball, baseball, soccer, inline skate marathons, 7 to 12k races, volleyball and softball. In high school I competed in football and wrestling, which I continued on into college. I also did gymnastics, ballet and jazz dance for twelve years. In high school I competed in football and wrestling, which I continued on into college. I also did gymnastics, ballet and jazz dance for twelve years. While I was in college wrestling I tore my knee up and that got me into body building for a couple of years. As soon as my knee healed I started up ninjitsu and kickboxing. After college I worked my way into a job that had me working shifts that lasted anywhere from 12 to 33 hours straight with just food breaks. I ate a lot of fast food for several years which led to a huge weight increase. The unhealthy lifestyle unmasked a handful of auto-immune disorders, hypothyroidism, Hashimoto disorder (body creates thyroid anti-bodies), celiac disease (gluten intolerance), pernicious anemia and the worst one being psoriatic arthritis (due to the amount of joint pain). Things got so bad that I quit inline skating out of fear of how painful wrecking could be (due to the arthritis), I also quit playing volleyball, and softball, which were the last of the physical activities that I was clinging to. Pretty soon I was to embarrassed to even set foot in a gym and I was having serious trouble keeping up or even interacting with my daughter. I ended up returning to school and getting a BAPE degree so that I could get back to my roots and get back in shape. Three years ago I was warned that if I couldn't get on top of my health issues that I had a year to live. I fought hard and got my weight down to 210 pounds and thought I was in the clear. Then about two years ago, just as I was finishing up my BAPE certification, I had a huge set back, every joint in my body became excruciatingly painful and the doctors did not know why. I couldn't even get out of bed for more than half an hour without collapsing, I actually begin to wander if I was dying. I have slowly fought my way back to being able to work out and slightly better health. Now it is time to get the weight off and me and my wife are eagerly starting the Insanity workouts

After a decade of severely declining health I am finally able to battle back. I am ready to get my weight under control and start living a much more active life again. It is hard to imagine that two years ago I couldn't even get out of bed for more than thirty minutes without collapsing. My current main goal is to get within 10 pounds of my college wrestling weight. I weighed 175 pounds and I was between 3 to 5 percent body fat in college and I currently weigh 278 pounds and 31 percent body fat, so I got a long ways to go. I also want to be able to inline skate marathons and do long hikes again. Most importantly I want to be able to join my daughter when she goes swimming and not avoid it out of embarrassment. I hate that I have to currently modify some of the high impact exercises and that I have to stop more than I like. I am currently working with the Insanity workouts and loving it. I plan to get the P90X next and work my way through that and then do the combined/hybrid P90X/Insanity calendar.
