San Jose, CA I am 46 and have always been athletic and outgoing. Running, hiking, skiing, karate, biking, golf, tennis, anything active. In my college days, I was even recruited to play college basketball. If someone mentioned the opportunity to participate, I was in!

I am 5'11 and I have a large frame and hide weight well. However, I came to the realization in 2008 that time and poor eating habits had taken their toll when my doctor had placed me on high blood pressure medicine. I was having headaches, and back pain. I was miserable. I made a commitment in October of '08 to buck up and get in shape.
I am a member of a local gym and began a regimented program. I have lost 33 lbs since then. I was thrilled at the extra energy I had. I was feeling great! My core was getting strong, and my blood pressure was down. I was off the blood pressure medicine!!!
I fell off of my workout routine for 3.5 months beginning in Aug 09, because of long work hours. Amazingly, I gained back 8 lbs! I wonder now if the extra time at work was worth the sacrifice.
I am now back and focused on my commitment. It is Feb 2010 and 1 month since I started P90X and I am well on my way to achieving my goals. I am more than half way to my weight goal and am losing inches and feeling great!
Update: 9/8/2010 I started P90X in Jan of 2010. I was down 56 lbs from my heaviest weight and was about 5 lbs from my optimum weight goal. I was looking and feeling great in my skinny clothes!
In June, I became very focused on obtaining my Private Pilot's license and spent lots of time in the books and in the airplane. I guess you can see where this is going... "Yes, I gained back 10 lbs." :0(
Yesterday - Sept. 7, I passed pilot's my exam and now I am anxious to stop the processes that have been fueled by the stress and time spent studying. Slowing Metabolism, poor eating habits, lack of cardio, reappearance of back pain...yes, unfortunately, it does go on and on.)
My goal today is to get back to where I was and lose that extra 5 lbs. (15 lbs. total) I am not waiting another day! I am kicking off my workout program again right now. I am headed to the gym for a cardio and weight workout, then to the grocery store to buy all of the RIGHT stuff!
Thanks for taking the time to read my bio.
