Hi everyone!
My name is Adrianne and I am originally from New York City, but currently live in Houston, TX.
I have always been athletic...as a child I was a "Tom boy" and I was very physically active. I roller-skated, rode my bike, climbed anything I could find, jumped rope, you name it.
In high school, I ran track and in college, I kept in shape by being in the Marching Band.
When Hi everyone!
When I was 28, I began to change my eating habits and cut out pork and red meat. I went through about four vegetarian phases, but kept going back to eating fish and chicken.
After age 30, I noticed that I began to put on weight. I wasn't exercising regularly, but I walked a lot (commuting) so I was able avoid any serious weight gain for a long time.
Then about three years ago, I was on a really stressful desk job where I sat all day and drank sodas and ate cookies and fattening foods all day. My weight crept up to a high of about 200 pounds. I'm tall so I didn't go beyond a size 14, but that was really heavy for me.
Then one day I was having chest pains at work and my chest hurt for two hours. I thought I might be having a heart attack, and even though I'm still in my 30's, I was concerned because heart disease runs in my family.
So I quit my job and went to the doctor to get checked out before my health insurance ran out. I found out that my EKG was abnormal so I was referred to a cardiologist. In addition, I was found to have been borderline hypothyroid.
During this time I got started with Beachbody's Turbo Jam, but I couldn't get myself to stay consistent. However, I did get my diet back on track and was able to lose weight through walking and dietary changes.
I got my weight back down to about 180, which looks pretty good on me. I might have even gotten down a little lower than that...I was wearing about a size 12 and my size 14s were falling off.
Then last year I had a health scare and decided to get my health back on track even more. I went on a raw vegan cleanse and for about 28 days, all I ate was raw fruits, raw vegetables, raw nuts, raw seeds, and healthy oils. To this day, I can honestly tell you that I have never felt better, physically or spiritually, than I did when I ate raw vegan.
However, I ended up slowly returning to my old diet (old habits and food addictions die hard), and I got wrapped up with school, work, and planning a move to Texas (from Georgia).
I've been in Houston for 10 months, and since I've been here the weight has been creeping back on. Part of it is because I have gotten out of my normal routines...I don't know where all the Farmer's Markets and herb shops are, there are no Trader Joes here, etc. Plus it's so hot I spend most of my time indoors.
So, I am embarrassed to say that I'm back up to 200 pounds again. This bothers me because I have a birthday coming up on Jan 3 that I want to look my best by. So that means I have about 10 weeks to get it together.
I have recently discovered TurboFire, and since I loved TurboJam so much, I'm going to start TurboFire on Monday.
However, this time I want to stick to it...and one of the things that keeps me accountable is blogging about my progress every day.
So my goal is to use the Team Beachbody site to blog about my progress and keep myself motivated and on track so that I can look my best by my birthday on Jan 3!

My goal is to lose at least 25 pounds by Jan 3, 2011. That is exactly 11 weeks from my start date, which will be October 18, 2010. So that's just a little over 2 pounds a week. I think that's a very realistic goal.
