Gainesville, VA Married to a hottie for 16 years!! We have 3 awesome kids. Wouldn't trade the family life in a million. Was the typical tall/lanky skinny kid growing up. Could never put on weight in HS or college. Ate like it was going out of style. Played all the sports I could in college (intramurals) and took all the supplements for weight gain - to no avail. Also, I began smoking at 17, which would Married to a hottie for 16 years!! We have 3 awesome kids. Wouldn't trade the family life in a million. Was the typical tall/lanky skinny kid growing up. Could never put on weight in HS or college. Ate like it was going out of style. Played all the sports I could in college (intramurals) and took all the supplements for weight gain - to no avail. Also, I began smoking at 17, which would later play into my weight gain at age 23. I was still in good shape (a very lean 178) when I decided to quit smoking cold turkey. Within 3 months (my wife pointed out to me) I had gained approximately 15- 20 pounds. Still manageable, I moved from a 34 waist to a 36. No big deal, right? Ah, how it sneaks up on you. In 1999 my wife's friend told me she was starting a 12 week program. She gave me the book and I read it cover to cover in a day. I decided to go for it to! I weighed 230 pounds at that time. After the 12 week program, I had gone from a 41 waist at 230 pounds to a 35 waist at 182. I was stoked! I kept working out and kept the weight off for 2 years. Then I again let it creep back on - 5 lbs here, 5 there. You know how it goes. I managed to surpass the 230 mark. My buddy, who was always trying different workouts informed me that he and his wife had ordered P90X. I asked if I could read the materials when it arrived. In addition, I watched to see if he and his wife were going to stick to it. After they both had been faithful to P90X for 2 weeks straight I decided I was going to do it. After all, I'd done it before with an inferior workout plan. My wife, realizing my commitment was for real, decided to do the program too. And that has made all the difference for me. All my clothes are hanging off of me right now, with the exception of my "old" suits that "used" to fit me. Co- workers aren't busting my chops about my belly size anymore. Ha! Keep on hiding in the bushes and watch!! My thanks goes out to Beachbody, Tony Horton, Shaun T, my wife and my 13 y/o daughter who is doing Insanity with me - she is awesome!

Wow. Finished P90X - round 1. I feel great. Everyone is asking things like, "how much weight have you lost?", and "what are you doing?", etc. I love it. Sometimes I feel like a P90X Pimp, since I'm all about telling everyone about the program. My favorite question is, "does it work?" I'm thinking "Duh! You're the one asking the question because you see the results on me!!"
Began ROUND 4 on March 2, 2009. Back in the saddle again!
