Heather McAdam’s passion for acting can only be rivaled by her ardent love
for yoga and fitness. Heather believes that both acting and yoga require
synergy of mind, body, and spirit. Living with power, conviction and humor,
Heather was able to achieve many of her dreams at a very young age, and she
continues to successfully apply these core principles to the pursuit of every
goal in her life.
Landing her first television series at nine years old, and appearing in over
200 commercials by fourteen, Heather learned early the value of discipline
and professionalism. Memorable guest appearances on television’s “Beverly
Hills 90210”, “Quantum Leap”, “Touched By An Angel”, and many more,
earned her industry recognition, and in the CBS special “Just Pals”, Heather’s
powerful performance earned her a Young Artists Award nomination for Best
Actress in a Television Special.
Starring roles in the Emmy Award-winning films “Off the Minnesota Strip”
(with Mare Winningham), “Lady Against The Odds” (with Annabeth Gish), and
“The Murder of Mary Phagan” (with Jack Lemmon and Kevin Spacey) further
defined Heather as a strong, skilled, and passionate young actress. This
ultimately led to one of the leading achievements of her career, six seasons in
the role of Cat, Sela Ward’s daughter, in the Emmy and Golden Globe-
nominated NBC series “Sisters”.
While Heather had the honor of working with some of the most celebrated
actors of our time, it was her experience working with actress Lauren Hutton
on the ABC television movie “Starflight” that left the most lasting impression
on her. Heather saw in Ms. Hutton a woman who possessed great beauty,
intelligence and grace. Now as an adult, Heather’s intention of becoming the
woman she admired most has come to fruition. She now wants to spread her
mantra of “you are in charge of your own destiny and have the power to
transform your life” by combining her two love affairs.
Heather’s newest calling is to assist others make their dreams manifest into
reality. In doing so another of her visions is realized with creating yoga
workshops specifically designed for actors.
After all, it is truly in giving that we receive!
Heather has studied theatre with William Esper in New York and Carole D'
Andrea in L A, has her yoga certification through CorePower Yoga, and is an
NASM-certified personal trainer. In her free time she volunteers for kids from
the Olive Crest Foundation who are dedicated to preventing child abuse and
educating at-risk children by introducing them to the power and beauty of
Yoga. She currently lives in Southern California with her two young
daughters, whose wonder and enthusiasm provide her with new inspiration
every day.
