My name is Donna, I'm from Pepperell, Massachusetts. I've been doing Beachbody workouts since 2006 and became a COACH in July of 2008!

I've had my struggles with eating right and being a working mom like many women. I tend to put myself last. So I made a promise to do something for me by becoming a Coach. I've been on a weight rollercoaster for years and I know what

I had tried just about everything to lose weight for the past 25 years! While some programs worked, what I realized is that these were only quick-fix programs. I wasn't changing my behavior for the long run. Once I hit the big 4-0, and tried to play my favorite sport, ice hockey, against the 20-somethings, reality set in! You're getting old baby!

In 2006, I purchased Slim in 6 after seeing an infomercial and was all excited. I took a before picture and was all ready to go, but then life got in the way. I put it off again. Defeated.

Fast forward to May 2008. I have Crohn's disease and was out on medical leave from work for 3 months. During that time, I don't think I got out of bed. I put on 20 pounds and felt terrible. Then something clicked. I need to get serious about my health. Perhaps I've gotten wiser in my years, but I now finally get it. Watching what I eat and exercise is key for Crohn's disease, and surprisingly enough, it's the same recipe for losing weight and getting into shape (ding-ding-ding)! Yes, if I exercised regularly and ate the correct foods, I not only would keep my Crohn's at bay, but would get in shape and perhaps lose some weight!

I started May 2008. I made my own monthly calendar for the refrigerator and color coded each day to what exercise routine I did on the Slim in 6 routine (Pink for Start it Up, Red for Ramp it Up, and Blue for Burn it Up...I even put yellow for Slim and Limber).

I remember how hard it was the first couple weeks. I posted my woes on the various threads on the Beachbody community boards and got so many responses saying "Slow down - you're over training" or "You're not eating enough protein". I hooked up with my coach and she steered me in the right direction. I slowly made the progression through the videos, didn't try to keep up with Debbie, and ate more protein. After 6 weeks I lost 10 pounds and close to 8 inches. As of today (August 2008), I've lost 20 pounds and 10 total inches and I'm still going. I would like to lose another 20 to get down to a weight I haven't been since high school. What a dream that would be.

I don't know exactly what's kept me going on this, but I do know the Beachbody community is great. Not that I don't like seeing people face-to-face, but I could spend an hour on line in the various threads keeping in touch with people around the country. Talk about accountability...when I don't sign in, I hear about it.

I encourage you to try this program. It works!

TODAY: One year later - I have kept the weight off, despite not being 100% "perfect". I have 15 more lbs to lose and I WILL DO IT IN 2009. I take it slow and put no added pressure on myself.
