Hi! My name is Ryan and I am an Independent Coach for Million Dollar Body. I am a 34 year old father of two and married to my high school sweetheart. This past year (Dec. 2010) we celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary. My wife and kids are my motivation and the driving force behind my obsession with P90X, P90X Plus, Insanity, and various other Beachbody workout programs.

This past year (Dec. 2010) we celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary. My wife and kids are my motivation and the driving force behind my obsession with P90X, P90X Plus, Insanity, and various other Beachbody workout programs.
I've always been very active in athletics and overall outdoor activities. I played baseball in college and have continued with recreational weight lifting and a TON of basketball. Well, with all the basketball came a severe injury several years ago. During a lunch-time pick up game, I blew out my ACL. This put a severe crimp in my workouts and basketball for the next 8-10 months while I rehabbed from my reconstructive surgery. During this time, I gained roughly 10 lbs and lost a ton of mobility, strength and that feeling of being somewhat in shape. My wife and I get a kick out of fitness infomercials, but one day in the summer, P90X came on TV. At that moment, we both decided that we were going to do this. I've been working out with two great friends during our lunch hours but wanted to get involved in fitness with my wife and this was a great way to do that. I'm in this for good and looking forward to the ride!
Our descision to purchase P90X was one of the best descisions we have ever made. The workouts are layed out in an extremely easy to follow format, the nutrition guide is fool-proof, so the only thing left is to push play every day. I have a degree in Excercise Health Science so I am extremely passionate about health, fitness, and overall wellness.

October of 2006 was a big turning point in my “normal” routine as well as my fitness level. During a lunch hour pick-up basketball game, I made a sudden move and completely blew out my right ACL in my knee also causing a slight fracture to my tibia. This injury really set me back, and over the next 6 months, I had gained 15 pounds and found myself weighing almost 190 pounds. The only activity I was getting on a regular basis was my physical therapy, which really wasn’t all that intense of a workout.
My wife and I have two little girls who are beginning to become much more active. I have always been very active in athletics and want to instill that competitive spark and love for sports and outdoor activities in my children. My question to myself was, how am I going to accomplish this having fallen into such bad shape. We, as parents, are the major role model in our kid’s lives and I was determined to make a major change in not only our families exercise habits, but our eating habits as well.
As with so many other success stories you see for Beachbody workouts, I found myself sitting on the couch one weekend with my wife and a commercial for P90X came on. We had been looking for something that we could do together that wouldn’t interfere too much with our busy schedules. Unfortunately, we wrote it off as another “aerobics” DVD and didn’t order it right away. That next week at work, two friends of mine were talking about this infomercial they saw for P90X and how intense it looked. This was a bit of a validation to me that maybe this workout isn’t so bad so that night, we ordered it.
I'm now approaching my one year anniversary with P90X and Beachbody programs and don't plan on letting up. In the past year I have lost 26 lbs of fat and gained 8.5 lbs of muscle. I am in the best shape of my entire life, by far. I played collegiate athletics and was in no where near the shape that I am in now. As Carl Deikler says on the infomercial “why couldn’t I have had this body in high school”!!! Peers and family have also noticed the change and have had tremendous success stories of their own. I also decided to become a Team Beachbody Club Member and a Coach which has helped make me accountable to continue pushing play every day.
