At the beginning of 2006 I weighed near 300 lbs. As the year progressed I changed my diet and slowly added exercise, including dance, karate, and simple weight training, I began running 5k's again. A bit of a set back due to illness, in 2007 I realized one of my lifelong goals of completing a marathon (MCM 2007). As of this writing I have now finished 3, and my 4th is less than a month away. My goal is to finally break under 200 lbs, so that I can increase my speed in long distance races.

I am a firm believer in the power of the 'can do' attitude.
