I'm a masters student at the Eastman School of Music, and I primarily pass my time by doing homework and playing a variety of instruments. Exciting, right? I actually love what I do, but I'm trying to wade through my time as a student so I might eventually earn a PhD and become a professor. Music and the music of other cultures is a passionate love of mine, and despite the vast amounts

I actually love what I do, but I'm trying to wade through my time as a student so I might eventually earn a PhD and become a professor. Music and the music of other cultures is a passionate love of mine, and despite the vast amounts of reading/writing I have to do, I love learning!
Fitness has become a favorite hobby of mine - I've grown up with asthma, and for the vast majority of my life, I was lucky if I was able to run two steps before having to slow down. I first began attempting to work out in high school, when I realized my weight was becoming a problem - I lost 30 lbs doing Weight Watchers, which helped me get my worst eating habits under control. I started working out slowly - at first just walking on the treadmill, then slowly working up to a jog, and by college, I was able to alternate running and walking on an incline with some weight lifting.
I discovered P90x when I first started to date my very athletic, soon-to-be husband two years ago. He started doing the program and LOVED it, and tried to get me to do it with him, though I said it looked way too difficult for me. Slowly he convinced me to do yoga, and soon kenpo....And soon I was doing the program along side of him. While I would never recommend anyone with serious asthma to jump into P90x, I was able to make this the peak of my fitness journey and truly build up lung capacity and overall strength.
I'm continuing that journey today, and still trying to get to my ultimate goal: to get through Plyometrics....without pausing =)
