I am an ICU Nurse passionate about health and fitness living in Dallas, TX!
My health and staying active are nothing new to me, but most recently I have become even more interested in securing good health now and in the future.
Of course I've had struggles - we all do. I've stayed on a committed path and also faltered along the way. I've gone through most of the diet and

It certainly has been an interesting adventure! Healthily nourishing my body and being active date back to middle school, but I have had my struggles, as we all do. However, I've tried not to let any binge or falter derail me completely. I view these events as fuel to motivate me more to keep my "eye on the prize" so to speak.
I completed P90X a few years ago - I couldn't believe how effective it was. I had a thin, streamlined, toned body! Since then, certain events (i.e. Nursing school and clinicals) forced me to push regular exercise as a lesser priority. I remained in descent shape but lost the tone I once had and also gained 10lbs.
At the end of August 2011, after graduation and celebrations, I kicked it back in gear. I started out with a diet evolving around the low-carb principles of the South Beach Diet and made it a point to get to the gym for weights or cardio 3-4 times a week. By the end of December, I lost the 10lbs but my weight continued to fluctuate so much day by day because I always felt deprived and had food binges probably once every week and a half. Then, in January 2012, I received the best advice EVER. My awesome Cycle Instructor advised that I ditch the extremely low-carb lifestyle, eat a minimum of 1,200 calories/day, incorporate healthy carbs, and try Shakeology. I did. The results: The first few days I was bloated from actually eating enough and I did feel discouraged at first, but within the next week and a half, I had reached my goal weight, stayed there with no fluctuation, and had such a surge of energy! I fell in love!
Currently, my goals are to tone, tone, tone! I've ditched the ketotic low-carb lifestyle that left me feeling deprived. Starting today, with the aid of Team Beachbody, my new plan is to fully incorporate Shakeology into my meal plan, and complete another fitness program - starting with ChaLean Extreme.
I will continue to update you on my transformation!
