Each year I told myself I'm going to do better, I'm going to get motivated and disciplined and get on a program but I didn't. I'm over 40 and the pounds come on so easily now which effects my daily life. I needed help to do this, but was

I began on Monday, August 18, 2009 after during a visit to my mother's small town I stepped on her scale to see it read 175!

I began on Monday, August 18, 2009 after during a visit to my mother's small town I stepped on her scale to see it read 175!

I have lost 22 pounds since then by cutting out nearly all the white stuff: white flour, white sugar, white rice and white pasta. I have also eliminated most breads - even whole wheat.

Although weight loss is important as I want to reach a healthy weight of 125-135 my overall health, tone and strength will determine the final number. Inches and a firm, strong body is most important to me.

Ideally by Christmas I will be looking and feeling pretty terrific and by March 2010 I will be at my goal. Then it's about staying there cause I never want to go down this road again. It's too tough.

UPDATE: It's February 17, 2010 and I have lost 35 pounds in the past 6 months. I started my second round of P90x a couple Monday's ago and am still hoping to lose another 5 pounds by the end of this month. When I started I was in a 14 jean; now I'm comfortably in an 8 and some 6's. Love the sizes and inches going down and that I am getting stronger. When I started P90x I could only do 10 push-ups on my knees and none on my toes; now I can do 10 on my toes. Still can't do a pull up but I'm working on it.

UPDATE:
I started ROUND 3 of P90x on Monday May 10 and am scheduled to complete it on Saturday, July 31. My latest body composition test my electrical current is 27.1% - finally gets me out of the "unhealthy" range. Skin calipers put me at 19% which when I started skin calipers put me at 38%. Yikes.

I still haven't reached ALL my goals. (I can't do even 1 unassisted pull up and my body fat composition is still too high for longevity.)
