My Photos | jimmybz Canton, MI Born in 1961 in Southgate, MI. One of 4 boys so nothing was ever given to us, we had had to earn it or take it. Mother Margaret and Father Bob. Great parents who were always there for all of us, putting our needs in front of theirs at all times. Margaret was a stay at home mother (toughest job in the world) and my dad drove a beer truck (Best job in the World!). Pop worked multiple jobs Born in 1961 in Southgate, MI. Pop worked multiple jobs getting all four of us boys through Catholic grade and high school. We were no stranger to hard work. We were a very athletic family, all involved in multiple sports at all times. My sports of choice were Baseball, Football and Hockey. This was back when you could enjoy them all and not have to specialize or select a sport by the time you were 5. Education was important to our folks as well as us especially with the $$ they were laying down for a private education. We had to keep the grades up to enjoy the extra circulars that school had to offer. Baseball became my prime love and sport with our team winning the 1979 Michigan State Class "B" Championship over the South Haven Rams. I was behind the plate for the whole thing continuing the trade I took up at the age of 10. My skills and grades earned me a scholarship to Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, MI where I earned a Bachelors degree in Business and Accounting, Academic All American with a 3.59 GPA. Our team won 2 state NAIA titles getting as far as the Regional Final my senior year before crapping out. Baseball ended there and my business career in 1984 as an Internal Auditor with Alexander Hamilton Life Ins. Co. 2 years later is was on to the land of Pizza Pizza with Little Caesar. After 15 glorious years there I took a position with a local Vending/OCS and Business Dining Company. It gave me a great opportunity to advance my career and work much closer to home. Very important as my 2 boys were growing up. I am still with that company, Continental Services, continentalserv.com, VP of Corporate Finance during one of the most challenging business climates in one of the most challenged states, Michigan. We will continue to fight and we will continue to succeed because failure is definitely not an option. During all of this I met the girl of my dreams, Sherry during my first job in 1984. Pretty face with gorgeous legs to carry the whole thing around. We were married 3 short years later and moved to Georgia for 2 years, Colorado for 2 years and back to Georgia for 1 year before being relocated back to our home state and current residence in Canton, MI, We have 2 sons, Zakary (freshman at U of M) and Mitchell (freshman at Detroit Catholic Central). Both boys were born in Georgia, Zak in 1990 and Mitch in 1994. Zak is very intelligent which is why he got the chance to attend the U of M despite being a Type 1 diabetic since the age of 6. Needless to say we are very proud of his accomplishments. Mitchell is the more athletic of the 2 focusing on baseball while attempting to play football as a freshman for the first time in his life! Did not play a lick but stuck with it the whole season which is impressive as hell for a first timer. We are extremely proud of Mitch as well and look forward to great things from both of them. My wife Sherry is currently a Pink Cadillac driving Sr. Director with Mary Kay as well as a future national with that wonderfully fulfilling organization. She has been with it since 1983 and has grown tremendously as a person and as a business professional helping many other women reach there dreams along the way. I cannot say enough about what Sherry has accomplished and what she means to me and the boys as well as her Mary Kay Unit. I currently and always have enjoyed golfing and bowling. I bowl in 2 leagues and have only one 300 to my name back in 2001. I try to get out golfing as much as possible enjoying the outdoor, the challenge, the friendships and the many, many laughs. I carded my first Hole in One this year with my youngest son and my dad present. It was truly a treasured moment. My Progress My fitness goal: Transformation story

I watched the P90X infomercial many times and new it had some merit. The trouble was pulling the trigger. After enduring the holidays and swelling up to a lifetime high 235 lbs, I knew it was time. I had no energy, my wife was on me for snoring at night and not looking fit. After the new year, I started with pushups for about 3 weeks before finally pulling the trigger around the 15th of Januray 2008. My wife was out of town and I started my transformation on Sunday, January 27th, 2008. I did not take pictures or do the measurements other than the weight. That was not what it was about for me, but when I look back at the results, I wish I would have. The weight was enough for me. Chest and back was the first one and thank god I was doing pushups because i could have died that frist day. Could not do a pull up and then Ab Ripper immediately follow and I just watched. I could not do a sit up or any of the ab work mostly because I was smoked! Day 2 was Plyometrics and that was no picnic. I was shot after the warm up but kept grinding through it. It was extremely tough to bowl that night because my legs were still wobbly. Day 3 was Shoulders and Arms followed immediately by Ab Ripper. Uncle! My chest and back were screaming as were my legs. That was tough and yoga was next. I never did Yoga before in my life and after day 4, I knew why. It was a bear. I could only do the first part because I did not plan for the 1:30 time needed to complete. Legs and Back followed on day 5 and since I never, ever did much with my legs other than run, my weakness was exposed. That combined with pull ups (all chair assist) followed by Ab ripper, oh my. Kenpo followed and never doing anything like that, it was fun, fast and a great workout. It was a nice workout to move into the rest day. Week #1 done and I lost 5 lbs. with a combination of the exercise and the diet/portion control program. Week 2 started on Super Bowl Sunday so Plyo Monday was nothing I looked forward to. I got through that and week #2 loosing 3 more lbs. Going into the recovery week, I lost 3 more pounds down to 221.5. The recovery week was still rather intense with Yoga twice and the introduction of Core Synergistics. That was a great workout, so good they gave it to you twice that week. Phase One done and the weight was finally under 220 at 218.5. Phase 2 went longer than it should due to my annual golf trip I had in the middle of week three. I added 2 weeks in order to get 4 complete weeks for Phase 2. I just did some workouts until my next full week. Phase 2 ended with the weight at 211.5. I was closing in on the goal and 5 weeks closer to the end. I completed the program on May 10, 2008 and damn proud of my accomplishment. Final weigh in put me at 205, just shy of my goal but with the inches that were lost and the transformation of my body, it was all worth the effort. And believe me, it was a big effort. What next? P90X was complete so what now. Took a couple of well deserved days off and got right back on the program and have been on it ever since. I plan to add my photo on my 1 year anniversary Jan. 27, 2009. I purchased P90X+ and I am trying to get the nerve up to start those workouts, maybe on my anniversary? The recovery drink is the best as well as the protein bars. I became a coach in October and I have turned 4 folks on to various Beachbody programs. This includes my wife who just started the Slim in 6 program. She loves it especially because it has not caused her any issues with her problematic back. She loves the workouts and the diet plan and looks forward to moving through all phases of Debbie's program. My kids have done P90X and I am working on getting them to do more. The exercise is tough but it is now a way of life and I look forward to them because of the way they make you feel when you complete them. The Recovery drink that follows is all the carrot you need. I plan on staying with the workouts in one way, shape or form. I also plan on increasing my coaching effort to make some extra cash and changing some lives across this great nation of ours. Decide, Commit, Succeed! It works. It is all up to you. You do not have to go far to get in the best shape of your life. This is one of the best things about this program is that I do not have to go to a gym. I wake up and go in the basement and bust my ass for about an hour. I do not have to get bundled up, scrape off my care in below freezing weather (Michigan). I just get busy. In the time it takes most to go to the gym and back, my world class workout has been completed. Keep pushing play. | Please sign in to flag this as inappropriate.
