What I enjoy I am enjoying even more since I have been working out with the X. My family is the most important thing in my life and now that I am physically healthy and mentally focused I am able to give them so much more of my time and energy. I really enjoy my job as a firefighter and with the workouts getting me into the shape I need to be in I am working without the fear of injury. I am 40 years old and I feel 25 and its all due to the P90X program.

I have always been athletic my whole life. I played all types of sports and I am an outside person. I like excitement and change in my life. I guess that is why I got into firefighting. At the same time I enjoy helping others and I became a paramedic. Well after 15 years of doing this job and playing a little hard, getting injured, and not taking care of my core I developed weak muscles around my lower back. I was pulling some people out of a house during the hurricanes in FL, moving debris, and using a chainsaw overhead, etc. etc. and I injured L5/S1 disk. I then went over to my sisters house to work on it to get it back in shape so she could live in it again when I ruptured the already injured disk. I was in tremendous pain. I thought my career was over. I could not even move without pain. I went to several doctors and I finally opted for a fusion of this disk. I was in a plastic brace for 7 1/2 months worried I would not recover, but this motivated me to work hard in rehab, follow the docs orders, and I eventually got back to work without any pain. Since then I have been keeping in ok shape, but I realized if I dont work harder, eat better to build myself overall I would be injured again. Well that didnt happen. I was still eating bad, drinking lots of cokes, candy, chips overeating in general and generally bad. I was not working out and was letting myself just get more unfit. I was up late at night (actually morning) after a 911 call and put on the TV and saw Tony talking about P90X on infomerical. I tossed it back and forth about ordering it for 2 months. My wife finally said order it already. Doing so, P90X has changed my life. I feel strong, my core is strong and getting stronger. I know that I can reach my goal of being in great physical condition. Mentally I will not be so worried about injury because I have prepared myself for my work. I no longer am worried about flexibility because I can reach past my toes now (which I never though I would do again). I have to say yoga and stretch x did that for me. In fact I am more flexible then before I had the back surgery. My diet has changed dramatically too. I no longer eat or crave cokes, candy, chips and I am eating only healthy food. And I love it. As I side note I have started riding motocross again and I am so glad that I can. P90X has increased my endurance and strength on the track and on the job. Everything was going great, but while coming to the end of P90X second phase(Week 7) I developed an obstructed small intestine due to scar tissue from my back surgery. This required emergent surgery and hospitalization in Jan 08. After 10 days in the hospital (came out at 142lbs from 167lbs) and 6 week wait for ab scar to heal I started the X again from day one. During that whole time all I could think about doing was working out and getting back to the X. I have gone full tilt and made huge progress in my physical fitness. I wasnt sure how the surgery would have effected my core, but it seems that due to P90X my recovery was quick and I am back on track again and my core is strong. Thanks P90X and thanks Tony for getting me to my 90 days and the best shape of my life. I have been doing X workouts, plus workouts, one on ones and wow I have noticed a huge change in my life over the past year and some. I just am absolutly the guy that I wanted to be a year ago. I am stronger, more focused, awake, energetic. I could go on and on about what this program has done for me, but I want to say what this program has done for others around me. I have inspired over two dozen people around me to begin working out and getting into shape. These friends have been inspired by my transformation and are amped to get the same results. Several of my friends are currently doing the X and it has spread around the fire stations as well. I get calls all the time with questions about Tony's program. I even introduced it to people while I was on vacation in NC. I truely enjoy bringing the gift of health to others more than my own personal growth.
UPDATE 10-27-11: Currently I am a personal trainer in melboure along with my firefighting, but I am really living the dream of bringing fitness to others in an effective way
