Hi, my name is JoAnn, I am 53 years old. I have been married to a very supportive and wonderful man for 14 great years. Together, we have five daughters, one son and one granddaughter and one on the way. We are very busy parents. I have
always been interested in heath, fitness and nutrition. As a youngster I was a gymnast and a dancer and I loved to run. But things changed as I got older.

From 1988 to 2000 I worked as a Fitness Director in a women’s only health club where I taught 8-12 classes a week as a certified aerobics instructor, personal fitness trainer and consultant. I also held various certifications in health and diet from other nationally recognized organizations. My husband
and I were both Johnny G. certified spinning instructors and we love to ride our road bikes outside. Fred is an avid cyclist (sometimes he will ride 100 miles in a day). One of my goals is to be able to ride those miles with him or at least half of them!

In June of 2000 I made a career change and left the health club that I worked at for a desk job. I also work part time at two small home-based businesses.
One of my life goals is to own a women’s only health club and be fit enough to teach classes again.

On March 3, 2009, during a 4 hour surgery, I was diagnosed with appendiceal cancer. I endured chemo therapy treatements every two weeks for 1 year. My last treatment was on 3/3/10. I am still dealing with side affects from the chemo. Of course, I have not felt good enough to do anything physically except get through each day. I am just beginning to eat right again. I have not been able to eat fresh fruit or vegetables for many months due to GI problems. I am in the the worst physical shape ever in my life. (I was a Turbo-Jam instructor). Due to my cancer, I am now at my goal weight, but I have lost all of my muscle mass, strength and endurance. It takes everything I have to walk around the grocery store now. I WANT ME BACK!

I know that with all the great Beach Body workouts to choose
from and the support of the Beach Body Community, that I can and will be able to get back in shape. P.S. My 35th High School Class Reunion is on July 31, 2010.
