I currently work in Dialysis and just started a therapeutic massage business. Most of my life I have been a very active and healthy child. When I was younger, I participated in gymnastics, softball, cheer leading, and cross country running. I was even captain of my cross country team. I had an accident in softball and broke my nose. Since then I had suffered with sinus problems and had endured a total of 5 sinus surgeries. I had a pus-filled polyp the size of a large grape in my ethmoid sinus which continued to give me fever of over 101 for about a year. Once I realized I had this polyp, and it was removed, I hadn't had much fever or sinus infections. However, every time I started to get a little better I was knocked down again. I had a few more illnesses since then, lymes disease to name one. I have struggled with some chronic issues and got depressed. Needless to say, my immune system and health had gone down hill at that point. I was going to school for nursing and everyone said, "How are you going to be a nurse? You are always sick!" Well, I had made it through and have been a nurse for 11 yrs now. It wasn't easy - I was responsible for 14 patients at a time on a day shift in a hospital. IT WAS CHAOS. I had difficulty balancing my health and my lifestyle. Since I have graduated nursing, I gained 70 lbs and my cholesterol is high. I am in the worse shape I have ever been in and decided to make some changes. First and foremost was my career. I am happy to say I am still a RN, however, per-diem. I graduated school for massage therapy, so that I can work part time nursing and part time massage therapist. In this way, I can have a balance in my life. I couldn't manage a healthy lifestyle with full time nursing, esp with my damaged immune system. Second, I am trying to build up my immune system, get heathy & in shape, and lose weight. I have always wanted to open a wellness center and decided I need to get well first.
Now you know part of my life story. I have not been able to get myself back on track and lose the weight. Even my wedding wasn't motivation enough. I only lost 10 lbs for the wedding and sadly gained it back afterwards. I am ready to take control of my life, not only for me, but for my husband and the children I want to have in my family. I know my biological clock is ticking and I really want to be as healthy as I can before I carry a baby inside of me. I want to give that life all of the possibilities for a healthy bright future. Not to mention, I want to have enough energy to raise the child. So I am ready for help. I obviously haven't been doing the right things for myself and am ready to start now. Thank you for listening and I look forward to this journey.

Hello Million Dollar Body Community, I just got started, so the only thing I have achieved thus far is my 2 day fast....Boy was it challenging. Especially when your father-n-law orders eggs, home fries, sausage, toast, and an english muffin with butter at the horsetrack, while you are sipping your tea with stevia. Unfortunately we didn't win at the track, but I did gain something...energy. It is the first day of my slim in 6 week and I feel much more energetic and motivated. I really think there is something to that 2 day fast. I wasn't able to buy the drink, but did mine by drinking water, yogi fasting tea, juice, and pureed fresh vegetables as a soup. I used very little juice. I also bought whey protein that had a similar content to that 2 day fast from beach body and added that to water to drink. I have started online with meal favorites and I loved the breakfast burrito and am ready to start the workouts. Unfortunately, I had received some bad news that my father in law was diagnosed with liver cancer. I had wanted to start this journey, but I had put all my energy into work, massage school, and researching options for him. I had taken him to Sloan Kettering and have been driving 3-4 hrs to NYC in between going to school in Connecticut and working as a Dialysis RN. I had stopped eating right and working out. Once things became more of a routine, I had to restart with the 2 day fast - this time had boost for breakfast and lunch, pureed vegetables as soup for dinner and herbal teas, organic juices, and water the rest of the time. When it was finished I felt cleansed out and had a new appreciation for food - even healthy food- it tasted so much better after 2 days of fasting. I really feel confident that it has become part of my lifestyle. No matter what happens, I try to make better decisions and do some activity. Even going to the hospital at NYC, I ate healthy and did some walking. Even though I didn't follow this plan, I did something and I am proud of myself.
Now I have been working out 3 times a week with pilates, turbo jam, and total gym/weights. Last weekend did the 2 day fast and have been utilizing the online customized menu for 1400 cal diet. I love the structure it has given me to be able to eat a healthy and balanced diet. I actually convinced a close friend to eat and exercise in a similar manner. So far things are going great and we feel so much more energy. Now that preparing healthy meals has become fun and a habit, I will step up the exercise intensity. I would like to try slim in 6 while I still do one or 2 days a week turbo jam and every monday my pilates class. I know that I have just begun my journey but I will keep track of my progress and update as needed until I reach my goals. I am definitely going to start logging my workouts from now on. thanks again. Well it is a year later and I just read this above section again. I realized that I keep trying to start and then something comes up that stops me and I fall off for weeks to months. My father n law has been gone now for a year. It was a rough year with lots of family and work issues. Money had been tight, so I had to stop taking my weekly pilates class. Unfortunately, my friend and I did not stay committed. We found that it took too long to use the online menu and stopped working out. I realize that I have to commit in order to succeed, so I wrote to an old acquaintance and begged her to be my beachbody coach. I really want to find something that works for me and stick to it, regardless of what is going on in my life. So I did start up the chalene turbo jam program and was doing well for a few weeks. I then got sick twice within 2 wks.. I had fever and swollen glands and then an inner ear/vertigo episode that lasted 2 weeks. I refused to take anything for it because I thought I might have been pregnant, so I toughed it out. I did try and watch my diet, but couldn't continue the exercise program. I am happy to say that I have decided to try shakeology and restart my online efforts! I had a physical at my MD office and my cholesterol is finally back to normal...all areas. So I think that starting the program must have helped. I hadn't done this program full force, but picked up some good habits to help improve my lifestyle. I am eating better and more active now. I am trying to stay in touch with my coach as well. When I was talking to my coach, she introduced me to shakeology! I decided becoming a coach and promoting shakeology was a good business decision. She convinced me that even though I haven't reached my fitness goals, I can still be a coach to keep me accountable and go through the journey along with others. So it is now Sept 8th, 2009 and I started shakeology and Chalene again. This time I have to commit to succeed! I am determined now because my massage therapy business, health, and happiness are at stake. I want to have children soon and do not want to be this overweight, tired, and out of shape. I saw the most awesome video of one of chalene's turbo jam classes on You Tube. I saw 2 pregnant women in this video and thought that is my goal....to get healthy and in shape so that I can continue that kind of lifestyle even when I get pregnant. Hats off to those ladies!!! Well I need to go and workout now... more later with my shakeology/chalene progress!
