I have two jobs: I have a customer-facing, technical sales job and I'm also a wedding photographer on weekends. In both, my self-confidence has been undermined by my feelings about my appearance. I don't look sharp enough in that suit. Or I'm wearing uncomfortable, heavy clothes to weddings just to cover up my body. Well, enough is enough. I'm going to do something about it.

I started P-90 back in 2004 and quit at about 60 days. I know, I know - bad move! I was even seeing results. It isn't like it was a conscious decision to quit. "Stuff" just got in the way and I stopped pushing play.

Since then I've gained and lost weight over and over, trying diet programs, trying to go it alone, spending time on the treadmill here and there, but never really making a commitment. It's been tough to stick with anything because I haven't seen results to motivate me. And of course, as I've gotten older tricks that once worked to quickly shed those pounds (ahem... Atkins?) have given me absolutely zero results. Now my weight is back up to it's peak.

I'm so tired of feeling self-conscious, and I'm sick of deciding not to go out because I don't look as good as I once did. It can't be healthy to sit on the edge of the bed crying because the piles and piles of clothes surrounding me don't fit.

A few months ago, I was encouraged to order Slim in 6 by some of my good friends (who also happen to be BB coaches). Sadly, it sat neglected in it's box for quite a while, but I finally opened it and poured over the contents. I was inspired by the reading materials and was fed-up with feeling so out of control. I decided to start my 2-day fast the very next morning. I took my before photos, did my measuring, and made sure I had everything I needed to get started.

As I'm writing this, I'm on day-3 (I started on a Tuesday). The workouts have been challenging and good. I've supplemented with one yoga class so far (I was coerced by a friend). And I've been making better food choices. It feels good to be in control again.

I'd say "wish me luck" but I don't need it. You just wait!
