Hi. I am a 52 year old disc jockey that pretty much always worked out. The problem was, I worked out the way most people do: hitting the gym a few times a week and doing the same few routines over and over. And like most people, I never really saw any major improvement. It's almost like I was treading water: I wasn't getting any worse, but not looking or feeling any better either. I saw the P90X More... Hi. I am a 52 year old disc jockey that pretty much always worked out. The problem was, I worked out the way most people do: hitting the gym a few times a week and doing the same few routines over and over. And like most people, I never really saw any major improvement. It's almost like I was treading water: I wasn't getting any worse, but not looking or feeling any better either. I saw the P90X infomercials on tv and would sit there spellbound! haha I would literally watch them over and over, wondering if I could do that? I finally figured, what the heck...it's only $119 and I knew I needed to do something.
See, as I turned 51, I started feeling old and sluggish for the first time in my life. My lower back began to bother me and I noticed when I first got up in the morning and walked down the hall, my body literally made cracking and creaking sounds! I'm not kidding. At first I wrote it off as the inevitable effect of aging. But damn...I wanted to be like those happy, ripped people in the P90X commercials.
So I ordered the program and told everyone I was going to do it so there would be no backing down. End result? Probably one of the smartest decisions of my life! And definitely the nicest thing I ever did for my body!
I worked my butt off like I never have before, fine tuned my already healthy eating style and started seeing results fast! After only one month, I could literally see things happening to my body which only fired me up more. I went on two vacations during my 90 days and worked the program into my travels. I was not gonna be denied. By month two, I was actually seeing my abs. What a rush! As I entered my 3rd month, people I hadn't seen in ages were asking me if I was working out and told me I looked great!!! And the amazing part was that I wasn't that overweight to begin with, I was just soft and mushy (it hurts just to type those words)! I had NO muscle definition and my belly looked like a giant, tanned marshmallow! (haha...nice image, huh?)
So when day 90 arrived, I looked like a totally different person. I would look in the mirror and be shocked when I could see a six pack and hard defined muscle all over my body! Damn....why didn't I look like this all my life?? When I posted my before and after photos on my radio station's websites, people were astonished. (A few friends were so stunned, they asked me if I photoshopped the pics!!)
And I didn't even get to the added bonus I got from P90X: When I went for a regular check-up, my doctor walked in the examination room with my chart and a big smile on his face, wanting to know what the heck I did since my last visit!(which coincidentally was just prior to starting P90X) MYy weight went from 174 to 159, my blood pressure was an amazing 104 over 64 AND...my cholesterol plunged from a dangerous 243 to 200!!! ( no meds...just good old fashioned hard work and healthy food)
Oh...and that lower back problem and the creaking sound my body used to make? Gone! I discovered the lower back issue was due to a lack of flexibility and weak back muscles. Ab Ripper X took care of that.
So here I am at 52 years of age...feeling younger and better than I did in my 30's...and I did it in 90 days! I know Tony always refers to Yoga as the fountain of youth, but really...all kidding aside, P90X really IS the way to get that body and feeling of youth back!
I am planning another round of P90X in the near future, only this time I will be encouraging all of my listeners to start the program at the same time. We all start and finish together...how cool is that???
Thanks to Tony and the gang at Beach Body...I feel great!!!
