As of May 3, 2010, I have become a FULL TIME BEACHBODY COACH! I love to help people. I love to teach. I love to made a difference in the lives of others. So now I am putting my money where my mouth is and doing this full time.
But this is my story: I am 41 years old, formerly travelled constantly for work and needed something to get me back into shape. As a supposed lifelong athlete, I was in the worst shape of my life.
I was the VP of Sales for a construction equipment company that has me on the road 200+ days per year, so whatever I did needed to be portable and compact. Furthermore, it had to be adaptable to a hotel room. My issue was that I like eating...and I ate a lot. When you are on the road all the time, it is pretty easy to get back to the hotel from work, hit a restaurant for dinner, then go back to the hotel and sit around watching TV and doing emails.
P90X is perfect for people like me. Instead of sitting in a bar drinking, eating myself to death or sitting in the room letting my brain rot with TV or the internet, I turbo-charge myself with P90X. It is just great.
I love helping other people get themselves on track as well. To date, I have gotten several of my friends into the system as well. They are fighting every day to get in the best shape of their lives.
Working out is just like anything else...get your head into the game, make the commitment to get yourself healthy, then do something about it. I call it "Kicking Your Own Butt."
Now, I have added both the Insanity and RevAbs programs to my workout routines and I keep pushing play. The results speak for themselves...I have lost about 55lbs, went from a size 38 pant to swimming in 34's and went from an XXL shirt to a standard L. All the while, I am ripping up muscle like never before. Not bad for an "old man," but still pushing myself to get healthier.

So I was sitting in my house, watching TV and eating a Snickers candy bar at 10:30pm while watching the end of the news. My back ached, my knees were sore, my ankles were sore. Everything hurt on More ...
So I was sitting in my house, watching TV and eating a Snickers candy bar at 10:30pm while watching the end of the news. My back ached, my knees were sore, my ankles were sore. Everything hurt on me. I was 38 years old.
I was out of shape. I was 242lbs and didn't look good at all. I was soft and out of energy.
On November 30, 2007, I decided to join a gym and change that. I went four or five days per week and lost about 20 lbs over the next 14 months.
In the meantime, I started watching these P90X infomercials. I think I saw them about 4 or 5 times and I kept considering it. Then one night, I saw (for the fifth time) one of the girls who testified that she was doomed "to the post-baby body" and she decided to do something about it.
Funny how things turn out. With all the guys on those infomercials telling us how they went from "Fat to Fit," it was a 5' tall mom that pushed me over the edge.
Then I finally pulled the trigger.
I got the system, dove into it and it immediately kicked my butt! I was so excited.
I am on the road on business constantly and the heavy travel schedule always messed with my exercise schedule. Now with the bands and the videos, I get a complete workout every time.
I am now 189lbs. I went from a tight 38 waist to swimming in 32's, but I still wear the 34 pant because my thighs don't quite fit and I don't want to look like I am attending a Bon Jovi concert. Needless to say, I am a huge fan of P90X.
This hasn't been easy. I wished that I didn't waste so much time doing the exercise in the gym and just got moving with the P90X system. But it is a lesson learned.
I just turned 40 years old in June, 2009 and I am officially in the best shape of my life.
I have named my team "Just Show Up" because that is really half the battle. Horton says it in one of the P90X videos and it rings true. Don't worry about what you think you can or can't do, don't worry about if you can keep up with the machines in the DVD, JUST SHOW UP. Keep pressing play and the results will come.
I'm not saying that this was easy. As a matter of fact, it was pretty darned tough. But I followed Tony's advise. "Just show up." Stick with it and fight.
