A former sprinter/all around athlete in highschool, I fell out of shape through college. I tried to maintain my fitness level, but injured my shoulder a few times. The first was from lifting too much weight in the gym. The second was snowboarding - dislocation - and that led to my second dislocation while skydiving. I tried to maintain my fitness level, but injured my shoulder a few times. The first was from lifting too much weight in the gym. The second was snowboarding - dislocation - and that led to my second dislocation while skydiving. After being told I couldn't dive again until I had my shoulder repaired, I took a leap of faith and went under the knife. That was 8 months ago. While trying to get back into shape that last couple years, I noticed my workouts were getting stale, I wasn't challenging myself, and I wasn't getting to the level of fitness I wanted to attain. I was running, cycling, swimming, doing yoga, and some mild weight lifting, but I felt sluggish and unfulfilled. I kept hurting my back or pulling a muscle or something else to set me back, and I resigned to getting old at 24.
Happening upon the philosophy of muscle confusion entirely on my own trial and error, I found I liked more dynamic workouts, that don't have you doing the same few exercises and movements in the gym. Then I saw the P90x program... and was skeptical. I've never been one to buy into hype or purchase what I think is frivolous, but the more I looked at my workouts, and the results I saw people on the commercials have (yes I know, it is made to look that way), I thought, I am just as committed to my fitness as anyone else, and if they can do it, so can I.
So here I am.. I have purchased the P90x program and all the equipment I will need. I bit the bullet, put my trust in the program, and bought the recovery formula, the supplements and the protein bars, and passed the fit test easily. My official kick off date for the program is May 12th, though I have started playing with the routines already. All I can say to the workouts thus far is WOW(Y). I am working harder than I thought I could at this point in my life, and I am sore all over too, but hopefully the first time will be the worst. I couldn't walk 2 days after the plyometrics workout, and I can't wait to do it again!!
So that's my story. 24 year old male looking to get in the best shape of his life, and hopes to get back into sprinting, with a body that is prepared and more forgiving for the punishment of interval training on a track.

I am just getting started with this program, so no results just yet.
My future plan is to finish 90 days of this program and then modify it as I need to stay fit. I want to be a sprinter and run under 21s in the 200 and under 50s in the 400.
