I am tired of hiding behind a sweatshirt or jacket at work, tired of letting my kids see me acting like being overweight is just a part of life, that it just happens, and that it's ok to be overweight. I want my children to grow up knowing fitness and that eating right is important in their daily lives.

After having Turbo Jam for several months and just staring at the box for quite some time, I finally found some motivation within myself to say "if I don’t get up off this couch, & quit making excuses for myself, I will continue looking in the mirror, feeling disgusted, upset, and depressed with my efforts” Once I did that it took about a month of sporadic, at best, workout schedules. Then I realized I am the only person who can help myself right now, if I want to stay in for my kids I had to make myself a priority. I began getting up at 5am to workout before starting my work day, which also gives me weekends to spend with my kids, and early morning workouts where I don’t fear having anyone see my fat jiggle around. Its only been a short time of really putting forth effort, working out regularly, using WOWY, and going little by little, but I am already seeing such a great improvements in the numbers I am excited to continue on and see how I look come June or July this year. For me starting a regular schedule was hard, but then I said well I can start slowly and work with one thing at a time until I have a regular, comfortable feel with it and then add on. I figured exercise was the best place to start, being active is always healthier than not. So I started there and I eat sensibly normally so I figured I would get the exercise on a regular basis going and then hone down my food choices in a few weeks when I am really comfortable with the exercises. So far so good and I am still drinking alot of water and enjoying everything. I look forward to a slimmer me come summer!!! I am excited to walk on the beach with my daughters, hopefully in a swimsuit possibly even a bikini, but I’m not going to push. I’m going at a good pace and I will take it as it comes. KNowing that my husband is finally at a place where he wants to support me, is helping me alot. I told him I will probably never be smaller than a size 7. His reaction of shock was followed with "Well look at those people on Biggest Loser, you can't say that! I wouldnt be surprised if you ended up the same size as the kids babe!" With that a tear came to my eye and I knew he really saw the desire, determination, and will I have to succeed at being healthy in my life, no matter what size or numbers I see staring back at me. He said he will be there for me knowing now how much this is truly impacting my life already!!!

Since I truly started tracking January 4, 2007, I have lost 11 pounds and a total of 27.75” overall!!! That was the best moment in my day to see those results already. I can’t wait to see myself this summer!! I have come to the point of understanding and accepting that the number on that scale means nothing to me, how I feel, how my family and children see me, and how I see myself matters more to me than anything. If I still wear a double digit dress size, who cares. If I am happy, and healthy that will bring me far more joy than any number on my scale ever will. I want to look in the mirror and smile in sheer amazement at the results I see staring back at me. Thank you Chalene for creating something that I love to do everyday of my new life!!!! My journey continues and I will update next month!!!

I am currently working with a trainer at a local gym in combination with my Turbo Jam workouts. I am finally truly commited to getting this weight off and being healthy for good!
