Harrisburg, PA Where do I begin…ok I guess at the beginning. As a child and teenager I have always been a very active individual. I ran track since I was about 8 years old, just about all year long. Also during those years until I was 18, I simultaneously played basketball, took dances classes (ballet, tap and jazz), and was an all star cheerleader. I ran track since I was about 8 years old, just about all year long. Also during those years until I was 18, I simultaneously played basketball, took dances classes (ballet, tap and jazz), and was an all star cheerleader. Needless to say, weight was never a major concern. I was never a small person, but when I was in a bikini nothing ever juggled. My dad always said I was solid as a rock. Because my major activity was track, I had a very lean, muscular body, with the legs of the true sprinter meaning although muscular, they were larger than average. I would assume I was about 150, athletic build, 5’8”. Because of how active I was, I also never worried about what I ate, and consumed whatever I wanted and how much of it I wanted.
As I entered college, my body kept up with the parting and late night pizza as expected. Although I did gain about 20 pounds, it wasn’t a concern at the time. I guess walking up hills to classes everyday helped. Although, I was not in the best shape of my life, I could still wear just about whatever I wanted and looked presentable, with very minimal juggle. At times when my weight would seem to be “too high” I always had the time and energy to workout to get myself back in shape. Average weight would be about 170 give or take a few. During this time I ordered Slim in 6, and would use it sporadically (3 weeks here, 2 weeks there) to lose weight as I needed, never really completing the program.
Life progressed and I hit my mid 20’s and had a child. In preparation for child birth I ordered Turbo Jam and Project You. 3 months after having a child I got married, and 2 weeks after that I started a management training promotional position at work that required a lot of time. As demands increased as a mother, wife and full-time worker, the time needed to work on my weight never seemed to surface. All the Beachbody dvd’s and equipment just sat there. My weight was at a jiggly 200- 210. After about a million attempts of “I am starting tomorrow”, I final started my journey. I logged onto team beachbody, inputted all my depressing stats, and took those horrible first photos.
Even that did not jump start my motivation. Then I saw an insanity program. Something new and something intense is what I think I need. I have ordered the program and will hopefully start Sun/Mon. Am I scared…definitely. But regardless I will keep trying.
Stay posted.
My beachbody goal: I have about 40+ pounds to lose and want to be in good quality shape. Who knows what will happen. Wish me luck.

My objective is to teach myself how live an overall healthy life, filled with many years of living and great memories and experiences. With a 1 year old (and with others to possibly come), I want to be that active, long living, mom that is able to participate in my child’s life ( be the embarrassing one running with the whistle…lol). Losing weight, by exercising and improving eating habits will allow for me to this by cleaning out or reducing all the harmful fats, cholesterol, toxins, in my body and building up lean muscle mass. Ultimately creating a lean, mean fat burning mommy machine.
