Stress destroyed my once fit body. I gained 20 extra pounds of fat on my body gradually over a few extremely trying years and lost more than I care to know in muscle. I simply stopped working out and didn't care what I put in my mouth. As long as it made me "feel good" at the moment, it was ok.

9 months ago, my sister started teaching Bootcamp fitness classes at local parks early in the morning. This last January, she approached me to teach part time so she could add another class time. I was reluctant, obviously, because I was so out of shape. As a former trainer, I didn't want to teach unless I was in a shape that other people desired to be in. My sister pushed, as she normally does because she is a good motivator and trainer. So, I relented, dug in and began my quest to become a fit trainer again.

I started in February and I have not stepped on the scale and I vowed not to until the end of this April. I know that I will be pleasantly surprised as I can see it and feel it. I have more energy, more patience and am more relaxed than I have ever been. I have trained hard. It's hard not to get a workout when you teach about 17 Bootcamp classes a week (also hard not to get overtrained). More importantly, I am training myself to eat healthy and to enjoy it.

I am very excited about my transformation and motivated to be in the healthiest shape of my life when I am 40. (I am 37 right now). I am totally confident that I will achieve this goal!

P.S. I would like to also run the local half marathon next year. I have never been a runner.
