Lynchburg, VA Coming from a family of "large boned" people, it was easy to find excuses for carrying around a few extra pounds. From high school on, I was never referred to as "thin", but never really "fat" either. My husband, Keith (aka "KEMO") and I met in college and were married shortly after graduation in 1984. At the time, I weighed around 130 lbs for my 5'3" frame. After only three months of marriage, Coming from a family of "large boned" people, it was easy to find excuses for carrying around a few extra pounds. From high school on, I was never referred to as "thin", but never really "fat" either. My husband, Keith (aka "KEMO") and I met in college and were married shortly after graduation in 1984. At the time, I weighed around 130 lbs for my 5'3" frame. After only three months of marriage, the pounds began coming on fast. I love to cook, my husband loves to eat, and most meals were lovingly packed with lots of butter, onions, cream, cheese and bacon, just like he liked them (and grew up with)!! Then we added four kids to that. With each pregnancy, I gained weight and so did Keith (sympathy eating???) The older I got, the harder it was to lose the "baby fat", and my weight soared to almost 160 lbs. Keith is a pastor, and we have been living in France for 21 years now. We do a lot of hospitality, so eating is a regular activity around here. We have adopted many things in the French culture, one of them being staying at the table longer and "savoring" our mealtimes. This is good in that you eat much more slowly, but our portions remained very large, and the fat content of my meals also stayed pretty high! Implementing Michi's Ladder has revolutionized my way of cooking. Even my pickiest eater is reaching for an apple for a snack instead of cake or cookies! Keith and I workout to P90 every morning, and anticipate more great results, not only in weight and fat loss, but also in increased energy levels and stamina! Although I have arthritis in all my joints, the fitness administrators have been very helpful in counseling me, and I'm finding that my muscles are being strengthened so much that the pain in my joints is diminishing! One of the biggest strengths of BeachBody is the community of cheerleaders we have found through the message boards. Not enough can be said about the incredible encouragement found here and the neat relationships being established through motivating each other to be our very best! We are so grateful to Tony Horton and the entire BeachBody staff. You all have a FANTASTIC thing going here! We're members for LIFE!

Two years ago, at a time when my husband and I were absolutely "fed up" with how out of shape we were, a friend visited who had taken the Power90 journey. She showed us the website and materials, and explained how Michi's Ladder worked. We were amazed to hear her success story ("Maia" January '03 winner) and to see up close how dedication and commitment combined with proper eating and exercise habits not only helped her obtain the weight and fat loss she desired, but also gave her great amounts of energy. After only ONE workout with Marianne, we were hooked! Our own P90 experience began on January 9, 2004. We finished in April with such incredible results, we hardly recognized ourselves in the mirror! We were full of energy and vitality which we totally unexpected as we were both in our early 40's. After officially completing our 90 days, we continued eating pretty well, but gradually stopped the early morning workouts. We did keep pretty active during the summer, but then winter came, and we dropped back into our lazy habits. Little by little, most of the weight we had lost has "found us" again. We find ourselves longing for that energy and lean body we had such a short time ago. So, we have recommitted to another phase of P90 mingled with some Yoga Booty Ballet. I have also ordered the Turbo Jam which I hope to use frequently (I've heard it's really a blast!!). One thing is for sure, we LOVE beachbody and especially the online community. We are ready to BRING IT with ATTITUDE!!
