My name is Kimberly. I’m 24 years old and the mother of a beautiful little girl. I work twelve hours a night (6 p.m. to 6 a.m.) as a 911 dispatcher. Long hours at work, laziness, and an addiction to Dr. Pepper (I’m sure it has replaced the blood in my body and now courses through my veins) have caused me to gain a few pounds more than I want to carry around.
My husband and I have both decided that want to get in better shape and set a better example for our little girl. We both want to be around when she’s having kids and be healthy enough to play with them. I also want to be able to look at my reflection and be happy about what I see.
I’ve tried a few different programs and went to a gym for a while, but I have trouble finding something and sticking with it. I’ve either gotten discouraged and had to put it on hold for something like moving and then not been able to get back in the grove of things. This time around I’ve got some serious dedication and a desire to stick it out and stay with it.
I’ve also got motivation from a source other than my husband. Don’t get me wrong, it’s great to have him support me, but I like to hear from other people and hear about their struggles and success. Just so I know there are other people out there going through the same thing. Seeing other people talk about their success make me want to put in 190%. Hopefully, I’ll be putting up some results of my own that encourages someone to get up and change themselves for the better.
