Sterling Heights, MI Hello and welcome to Beachbody. kevin@how2befit.com
Here is a little about me: www.how2befit.com
I just completed my first 1/2 marathon, The Detroit Free Press on October 18, 2009. I finished in 1:54:45, my goal was to beat 2 hours. I believe that P90X was the number on reason I was able to break the 2 hour mark by over 5 minutes. It taught me diet, fitness, steagth, and heart rate management.
I was able to get my weight to a manageable level and now I can focus on adding more muscle for better definition. Now that I have finished the program, I find myself kinda lost on some days without the steady routine of P90X. I still do some of the workouts on off days from the gym. I got my body fat down to 12%, that is 11% lower in the 90 days. Now my clothes don't fit anymore. Not a bad thing, as long as they are to big.
I can't wait to start my next Beachbody program.
I have now completed 2 rounds of P90X. I did not lose any weight the second round but did build some good and visible muscle. Body fat went down another 1% too. Looking to be able to see my abs within the next 90 days.
I am 38 years old, married for 13 years and have 3 children 12-10-7. I have been running for about 2 years and working out at the gym for the past 2 1/2 years. I did not get the results I would have liked on my own. So that is why I turned to Beachbody.
The biggest thing that I have learned is that diet is very important to your health and weigh loss.
I completed my first round of P90X on September 6, 2009 without missing any workouts and sometimes doing extra. I lost a total of 35 pounds and 8% body fat. I lost 6 inches in my waist and 5 inches from my hips. And I look great for being 37 years old. I then went on to complete a second round in January. The second time was harder then the first. I think is was because I knew what I was able to do and always pushed myself to do more.
One of my co-workers suggested that I try P90X. I started looking into that night and then bought it the next day. It was the best money I have ever spent. The workouts are great and fun too, the diet plan is the best and very easy to follow.
I started the diet 2 weeks before the workouts to get my body adjusted to the different food I would be eating. The first week of the diet was the hardest to get used to, eating 6 times a day, but the right types of food. The workouts were intense to start with to start with and just when I got used to them it all changed (that's where the muscle confusion comes into play). Everyday for the whole 90 days I looked forward to working out, and on the rest days, I felt like I was cheating by not doing anything so I started to run again.
After the first 30 days I had lost 13 pounds and saw a huge difference in my body shape. All of my clothes were and still are too big for me to wear. After 60 days the muscle starting to show through and I was able to do all the workouts without pausing the DVD and often trying to intensify the moves a little more. My heart rate was lower and recovered faster then it ever has, which made my running easier.
At the end of 90 days, I had transformed my body into something that I had never even dreamed it would look like. All with a little discipline and healthy eating that never left me hungry for more food. But did allow me to lose body fat and have the energy to work out and gain muscle.
The message boards were a huge help with any questions I might have had or that other people had, which helped with the diet and workouts. They were the biggest motivator to never miss a workout too, as I was afraid of falling behind in the program and not finish on the scheduled date. I was determined to finish what I started and to finish by the the end date and not prolong it.
Currently I am only doing heavy weight training at the gym with only about 15 minutes of cardio each day. I am looking to add about 8 lbs of muscle while losing 2% of body fat. The hardest thing is to gain muscle and lose weight at the same time.

I started June 6, 2009 and wanted to transform my body. I was in pretty good shape for my age, going to the gym 5-6 days a week and working with a personal trainer. I just was not getting the results I wanted. The workouts were a little conservitive with the trainer and I did not follow any diet.
After I got the program I started the diet 2 weeks before the workouts, which I think helped me understand what I was getting in to. It also let my body get used to less calories before starting the very intense workouts with Tony. I have lost a total of 35 lbs and 8.5% body fat. I can see my abs (didn't know I even had them) muscle definition is 100% better and my heart rate went way down. I can now run over 13 miles with a avg. heart rate of 149, with a max of 162, use to be around 175 with a max of 193.
After completing P90X, I have come to find out that eating healthy is a lifestyle change that ended up being a good one. I have had some foods that are not on Michi's Ladder, the food tasted very good but my body did not like it the next day. I now enjoy eating the right foods and that little cheat gives me that satisfies my craving for junk food. I still work out 7 days a week and feel like I am cheating myself if I don't do something each day.
