Transformation story

Just over three months and I have lost 12 pounds and a total of 12 pounds and 6.5" gone. Very exciting is that I am now wearing two pair of jeans I had not fit into for two years. And the two pairs More ...
Just over three months and I have lost 12 pounds and a total of 12 pounds and 6.5" gone. Very exciting is that I am now wearing two pair of jeans I had not fit into for two years. And the two pairs I purchased most recently now are falling off me and can't wear at all anymore.

I am not stressed about what I eat because I know I am making much more healthy choices. I am choosing healthy foods about 90% of the time and when I do splurge, I make sure to fit it into my daily program. For example, on our recent Leadership Retreat to New Orleans, I only had beignets two mornings intead of five.

With Judi's gentle urging, I have been choosing to have steamed veggies with my black bean burger as opposed to the french fries. Judi sweetly reminds me french fries hurt my heart. And I actually glad I choose the veggies and they were great. The old me never would have said that. Judi really is my star coach and we are enjoying doing this together and rooting each other on.

After two years of working nights, I transferred to the day shift this week. This will be great since we can begin having dinner again together as a family in the evening. When I got home from work around 1:00 AM I was always hungry and would have a snack and then fall asleep. That is another change I am making being on days, not eating so late at night.

We have both really cut down on the amount of diet sodas we consume and have not missed them. I like the feeling of not "being on a diet" and instead making healthy lifestyle eating choices - like having my glass of wine each evening.

Even though it may not seem like I have lost a lot of weight in the past three months, I am averaging about one pound a week and that is fine with me. Choosing to eat in a new way instead of going on a diet suits me fine.
