I grew up in a very athletic household. My siblings and I were always playing sports. I played numerous sports, from Basketball, Softball, to Shot-put and Discus. However, my favorite sport was always Volleyball. I also spent countless hours in the weight room. When I lifted weights I was always lifting for strength, never for definition. I did not know that beachbody existed until late one night when I couldn't sleep, I watched an informercial of Chalene Johnson's "Turbo Jam". I have always been critical of infomercials, and thought it was just another scheme and that the product didn't really work. Then, she had a girl demonstrate during the infomercial one of "Turbo Jam's" signature moves, called the Wheel. Well, I got out of bed and started to follow Chalene's instructions. Instantly I felt the move working my abdominals, especially my obliques. The next day, I went online and began researching "Turbo Jam". I was instantly impressed. I ordered it and have been doing the moves daily. It has helped with my strength, coordination, and endurance. I am very pleased. I have every intention to continue with this program and the Beachbody community.

March 18, 2007 -- Well, since I wrote that it has been about one year. Unfortunately I strayed from working out for awhile and naturally put everything back on that I had lost (and I was starting to look really good too!). Well, now I am back and more determined than ever to not only stick with the work outs but take a more active role on the message boards and workout buddies. I can keep myself motivated for only so long -- some days I just need someone to push me and keep me Jamming.

July 21, 2007 -- For my birthday my boyfriend ordered P90X for me. I was so excited. I started the program about 2 weeks ago, after several weeks of TJ and the eliptical machine to get back in the swing of things. I love P90X, especially the variety of the routines from weight training to Kenpo and Yoga! I think TJ is a great intro to prepare your body for the workouts that Tony is going to put you through. It especially helped me stay on task for the Kenpo day. I also love this program so much because of all the weight training and my familiarity with many of these lifts, which I did as a high school athlete.
