The most important thing in my life is my relationship with Jesus Christ. And because of that relationship, I am important to me "because I am fearfully and wonderfully made." (Psalm 139:14) This is way easier to say than to believe, and yet that is my goal: to believe equally with my heart, soul and mind that "The king is enthralled with [my] beauty." (Yes, I can call them beautiful because they are still pretty young... 6 and 4) Having my oldest son start Kindergarten last year brought more routine into our chaotic world of music and ministry and is allowing me more time to work on me, which I have been neglecting for way too long. So this is my attempt to become an all-around healthier person, happy with myself so that I can focus on the people I love the most!

I've been married now for almost 10 years! And I think it's safe to say that, like most people, my weight gain began soon after I got married. It wasn't drastic, just a slow progression due to a more sedentary lifestyle (i.e. sitting in an office for 9 hours/day rather than walking between college classes) It wasn't until after I had my second child that I became determined to get back in shape. I saw an infomercial for Slim in 6 and decided to give it a try. I had great (and noticeable)results, but nothing like what I had seen on TV (which I attributed to the fact that I couldn't take supplements while I was nursing) Either way, it was exciting at first to finally be back to a pre-pregnancy state (except for the inevitable shifting that took place =) I have worked out off and on for the last 2 years without any consistency, and that excitement has definitely waned. I'm not happy with a pre-pregnancy body anymore. I want the pre-marriage body. The one that made me confident and proud to wear shorts and swim suits! So I've set some goals for myself this year and thought I'd be more likely to accomplish them if I were able to journal my progress. I found this contest in my attempt to find a place where I could journal online. One of my main driving forces this time is that my family (including parents, siblings and their families) is going on vacation together for the first time ever in June. We're renting a house in Florida near the beach with a private pool. I want to make the most out of this trip, and I know it will be more fun if I am confident in a swim suit. So here goes...
UPDATE: I finished this round SI6 on 3/3/07. I had pretty immediate results during the first 3 weeks, then the progress was a little slower during the second half of the program. I'm really proud of myself for completing the program "perfectly," meaning I didn't miss even one day of exercise! My overall losses were: * 4 lbs * 4% body fat * 1/8" from my chest * 2" from my waist * 1 1/8" from my hips
I've taken it easy for a couple of weeks, using my "exercise time" to be active with my sons. Now I'm ready to create some structure again and work hard toward my long term goals with Power 90!
UPDATE: Did P90. Good results. Fell into a slump late summer. Starting Turbo Jam 11/12/07 and I'm really excited to see if this will rekindle my desire for exercise!
