Hello! I'm a native Floridian and am wife to a most wonderful husband and mom to our 3 fantastic children (ages 14, 10 and 8). I've always been very active and have happily led a healthy lifestyle. I've long since enjoyed running and have participated in numerous 5 and 10K's over the years as well as a few marathons, half marathons and sprint distance womens triathlons. I even Hello! I've long since enjoyed running and have participated in numerous 5 and 10K's over the years as well as a few marathons, half marathons and sprint distance womens triathlons. I even tackled and conquered the inaugural "Goofy Race and a Half Challenge" at Disney a few years back...running both the half and the full marathon in one weekend.
It's become plainly apparent to me that it's vital to incorporate training of many different kinds to develop a well-rounded fitness regimen which will (hopefully) result in little to no injury and will ensure that I target all areas of importance: strength, flexibility, endurance and stress release. I became a BeachBody coach a little less than a year ago and was excited to find everything I needed right here. I've done a round of P90X and was totally floored by how it so thorougly improved each of these fitness areas I'm striving to do better in. I also really enjoy the Yoga Booty Ballet Series.
At the beginning of October '09 I found myself in the position of needing to take on a part time, 2nd job to supplement my husband's income and the income I was currently bringing in as a once-in-awhile substitute teacher. Simultaneously, I landed fulltime work as a sub so have found myself in the blessed (we so need the income) but very rigid schedule of working 60-65 hours per week. Ever since taking on this new schedule, my fitness routine has taken a major and direct hit. I have an hour in between school and job #2 to spend with my husband and family and, 4 nights per week, I don't get home until midnight or thereafter. It's exhausting. Logically, sleep must come first and I'm only averaging about 5 hours per night with the hours I have to work. Not enough. I'm currently rising to the challenge of re-working exercise back into my day. I'm finding an answer that's working for me! Another round of P90X will have to wait until summertime, when school's out and I'm not working during the day. In the meantime, I've found that I LOVE yoga for it's many benefits--increased strength, flexibility, sense of peace and purpose. Yoga Booty Ballet has many different dvd's with varying play times. It's been pretty painless, now that I've adjusted to my schedule, to incorporate YBB into my daily life. A friend and I have also started walking/running the corridors at work at our night job during our break (we eat before work and bring a healthy snack that's quick and easy). Stay tuned! :) My husband and I completed a round of P90X in the fall of last year and were ASTOUNDED by the physical improvements that we attained. It helped us tone up and our strength and endurance exploded exponentially! In Oct, however, I had to take on a second job and have been working 60 hour weeks and finding the time to sleep, let alone maintain a rigorous workout schedule was overwhelming. I'm back, however! I'm still working the same schedule but, having adjusted to it, am incorporating fitness back into my regimin. I'm mostly utilizing Yoga Booty Ballet at this juncture because of it's incredibly balanced routine (the focus is on cardio, strength, flexibility and on calming the spirit). LOVING it and would love for you to join me~
