Fountain, CO I am a 42 year old married mother of two wonderful little boys, one born in 2006 and the other in 2008. My husband is in the Army and we are currently stationed at Ft. Carson. I enjoying being outside in the yard, being inside in the kitchen, playing with the boys and exercising with the husband. When I started P90X on February 12th, 2009, I was hoping it was something I could stand to do more than three times. I used to get frustrated with exercise DVDs and then I get bored with what is going on. I really needed something that was going to keep my interest and inspire me to keep going. It also had to let me know that even if I didn't meet the goal I had set, it was ok, just keep trying. All of this without being fake. I was 40, not really active, had two children under three and a husband with an insane work schedule. My back, neck and knees hurt all the time, I was tired, unhappy and on the verge of accepting things. P90X just seemed, different. After finishing 91 days of P90X, I feel awesome. I dropped 12 pounds, 6 ½ % of body fat and 19 ¼ inches. What a huge difference that made for me. I posted my results, with pictures, every week on my Facebook group to help motivate my other friends who were also trying to lose weight. They were really amazed at the end result. I’ve started another round of the workout and am really having fun. It can be hard to find the hour to workout everyday, it is not impossible. I am not where I want to be in terms of weight loss, but I am on my way. I have finally found something that works, gives me lasting results and has given me the tools I need to make real and permanent changes in my life. I would like to be able to let people know that you don’t have to keep the body you have after children, after age 40, after a lifetime of trying to find the “magic bullet”. There is a saying, “There is a lid for every pot.“ Beachbody has so many programs to chose from, one of them is right for you.
UPDATE 10/18/09
I just finished my very first 5K on the 10th. The race was called because of the weather, but that didn't stop me from doing it on the track. I walked it in 59:53:13 in the ice and wind on that 24 degree day. Pretty proud of myself. I trained for almost two months, walking and eating around a 1200 calorie per day diet. I lost 8.6 pounds, 18 1/2 inches and 7% of my body fat mainly by watching what I ate.
