Hey.. My name is Carl Saling and I live in Southern California. I am 39 and a proud single father of two amazing boys ages 11 & 9.

One day a few years ago I had an epiphany. I realized that I had to stop the business I was in and find something that I can do that truly helped and inspired people to change their lives.

I have searched for years and it wasn’t until I came upon

I was always in shape as a kid. I played lots of sports always stayed pretty active.

It wasn’t until I hit 27 that my physical fitness took a nose dive. I was really into martial arts, so much that I worked at my dojo at night. So I am training like 4 hours a day 6 days a week for years. I could eat anything I wanted and I would lose weight.

One day my back starts to act up (Never happened before). The next thing I know I am flat on my back for 2 weeks. This was the start of a long and painful struggle with low back pain.

Eventually after years of good weeks and bad weeks I finally went to an Orthopedic Surgeon. The tests where brutal. I had MRI’s, CAT Scans you name it I had it. The final test I had is called a Diskogram.

A Diskogram is where they inject die into your disk in your back and then inject your disk with air pressure and if the die leaks out then you are screwed. Well I of course the die leaked out and I was screwed. This test actually made my back worse and I do not recommend it.

The Orthopedic Surgeon then diagnosed me with degenerative disk disease. He gave me two options.

1. Have 1/3 of my spin fused together and be limited in what I can do for the rest of my life.
2. Live with the pain.

I was absolutely floored!

I opted to deal with the pain. How could I have my life altered in such a way that will limit my potential?

I was depressed, to top it off I was not happy in the business that I just recently sold and I was not happy in my marriage at the time.

My weight just spiraled out of control and I blew up to 330lbs. Granted I am a big guy but 330 lbs looks really bad on anyone.

I went to the doctor to get a physical, blood test the works. The Doc called me immediately after getting the blood results. “Carl you need to come into my office immediately” Whoa what’s going on here?

When I arrive at the office they sent me right back see him. “Carl your results show that your Triglycerides are at an alarming level. In fact I have never seen them so high in anyone of my patients. Your Triglycerides are over 900. You are in a serious danger zone”

They put me on all kinds of stuff to bring it down. Niacin, TRICOR and Lipitor. It totally sucked. Something in those drugs made my hair start falling out. So I stopped taking them.

I started to slowly lose some weight and try to gain control of the situation. I did ok but it wasn’t until I saw the commercial for P90X and that is when it hit me. “I can do this, I used to be in extreme shape I can get there again”. Well about a year later after those thoughts I buy the System.

I became totally committed to my health and wellness. I have 2 kids that I need to be healthy for and show healthy examples.

So far it is working amazingly. I have dropped noticeable in weight and toned my muscles.

AMAZINGLY my Triglycerides are now at a normal level of 132. Yes I said 132! All because of P90X and the nutrition plan I am following.

My goal now is to finish my 1st P90X program and then to inspire others that you can do this. If a fat 330lb man can do this anyone can.
