Coeur d Alene, ID I've always struggled with my weight. I love food, love to eat. I eat when I'm happy/sad, stressed/peaceful...you name the mood..I'm eating. When I got married, I weighed as much as my husband (180 lbs)...he couldn't keep the weight on, I couldn't get it off. Off and on between the births of my 4 biological kids, my weight yo-yo'd. Up to 225 and then to 160. I I've always struggled with my weight. I love food, love to eat. I eat when I'm happy/sad, stressed/peaceful...you name the mood..I'm eating. When I got married, I weighed as much as my husband (180 lbs)...he couldn't keep the weight on, I couldn't get it off. Off and on between the births of my 4 biological kids, my weight yo-yo'd. Up to 225 and then to 160. I went to an expensive program and lost 75 pounds. I felt great, but gradually put much of that on over a period of a few years. Started weight watchers and did well, but couldn't see how I would be able to count points for the rest of my life. We went to China in February and adopted our youngest daughter. Don't let anyone tell you that adoption is easy. It was the worst pregnancy I've had! Unfortunately, it was all a paper pregnancy/travel delivery and the lack of control I felt "made" me eat more. Finally, in September, when I AGAIN had to shop in the large women's section, I decided that I could not take it! I'd seen several infomercials on Power 90/Slim in 6 before I ordered the Slim In 6. Now I am in control! I do not eat/crave sweets and carbs like I used to do. In fact, I'm lucky if I meet my bread "requirements" for the day...those things just do not appeal to me anymore. My only regret is that I didn't find Beachbody sooner. I've got a ways to go, but I'm eating the way that I know I can eat for the rest of my life and THAT'S empowering!

I started the Slim in 6 after seeing an infomercial. I was desperate...I used to wear size 10 pants and had ballooned to size 20. Lost that weight and gained much of it back again! It seemed like such a simple thing to do...push play...I figured I'd try it. After all, I had nothing to lose (other than weight). I lost 20 pounds and 19 inches on the Slim in 6 program. It's a great program! I wanted something to build more muscle and strength, so I ordered the power 90. LOVE IT!! It's so "easy". I mean that work is hard, but all I have to do is push play and work for about 30 minutes and it's done! I haven't lost much weight in the 37 days I've done the program...only 7 pounds. But I can tell a difference in the way my clothes fit, my rear-end is smaller, my thighs more defined, and definitely more upper body toning, too! I'm loving this program and the opportunity it affords me to work out at home and still look good! I was a skeptic, but tried anyway...if you're wondering whether or not it will "work" for you...it WILL, if you DO it! I feel that my success was based on the fact that I kept telling myself "I can do ANYTHING for 6 weeks!" and it worked, but the best part is now it's habit! Thank you Beachbody for giving me a fresh start and the feeling that I CAN be successful in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
1/30/05 update...finished the power 90 program! WOW, I feel strong. I've only lost 8 lbs but I can tell a difference in the way my clothing fits...there's a 6-pack under the diminishing fat now. my stamina is incredible. I love this program not only for Tony, Debbie and Kathy's "support" and help, but for the WOWY support group. I don't interact greatly with the others, but, just like a gym, it's good to see familiar faces around you while you're exercising. Besides, it makes me be more accountable! My diet has completely changed...I eat more protein (whether it's cottage cheese with breakfast or a morning protein smoothie) and WAY less carbs...I don't even really crave them anymore! The time I realized that was when I got a piece of pumpkin pie at lunch and only ate 1/2 of it! I DON'T "have" to FINISH my plate anymore and I DON'T feel guilty about it! I eat to live now, NOT live to eat! I love this program...here's to life!
11/21/05: Alright...back on this program! I've let myself slide a little. I started Turbo Jam and love it!! I cannot imagine going to a gym anymore...I've got all the support I need right here!
6/8/07: I slipped back a little, but started a full-time job and full-time school with a full-time family! I slacked on my diet somewhat, but have since decided that part of my 'failure' was the fact that I fixing myself 'healthy' food while fixing the same old food for my family. We are now eating all the same food and it has been good for all of us! Still have those 10-15 lbs to lose, but feeling awesome with the help of MDB! I've now been a member almost three years and cannot imagine life without BB/MDB! Thanks for helping me transform my life!
7/21/07 Just finished 5 week of P90X! The first time I tried I quit after week 2 (life got in the way)...I'm determined to finish P90X Lean and start round 2 of "regular" P90X (if there's such a thing)! I'm hoping to get my hubby to do round 2...we can see HUGE results in my abs and arms. I'm mixing abs (ab parts of Total Body Blast with the ball) because I cannot do Ab Ripper X...I broke my tailbone with my 2nd child and now that I've lost weight, it's like sitting on a peg...OW! I get great results with TJ, too. 5 more pounds and I'll be to 169 (40 lbs gone)! My goal is 164 for now...depends on how my body feels. Keep pushin' play....it's SOOO worth it! 1/02/2008: Doing well! I have lost 50 pounds so far with about 5 more to go (depending on how my body fits into pants). I am now size 10--started at size 22; this is amazing stuff. My hubby is going to start P90 with me and then we will move on to P90X when he's finished. People say I look 10 years younger and I feel so much better (and less lethargic). This is by far the least money I've spent on a "gym" and by far the most effective! Thanks MDB for helping me be the best I can be!
