You don't wake up one morning and decide to gain 60 pounds. It builds a little bit day by day. You get in a hurry, you grab some fast food, you set priorities, and in some ways you don't really think that it will happen to you. Next thing you know you're 60+ pounds overweight.

It took time for me to make the decision to do something about it. I had to decide what was important to me in life. When I did things changed. It started with me paying attention to my diet. I already knew what I should or shouldn't eat - or at least the basics. Over time I have learned a lot more. I know now that a person can loose unhealthy wieght purely with diet.

Although to improve your overall health you absolutely need to entire package of a healthy diet and a workout program you can stick with.

It took me several attempts to find a workout program that I enjoyed enough to complete on a regular basis. I played with dozens of programs, read articles, played with websites - you name it. The a friend (and Beachbody Coach) recommended I look at Insanity.

The first time I tried the program I couldn't go more then 20 minutes into it. I enjoyed the program, and the type of exercise, but it was hard. I had to do the first month twice before I was confident enough to attempt phase two.

And that is where I am now....going through phase two. Since my heaviest I have lost over 50 pounds. I have more energy, feel better about myself, feel stronger, have more endurance, etc, then I have in over 10 years.

I have found my own fountain of youth in exercise and good nutrition.

And like I said, I am only half way through my final phase of Insanity...so this story isn't over yet.

Honestly, it never will be.
