I'm a fun loving, Christian, father of four and married to my best friend. I'm also a five time P90X graduate, plus I have completed a full round of Asylum and P90X2. I'm currently doing round 6 of P90X!! :)
I started doing P90X in May 2010 mainly because of a trip to my doctor. I had been dealing with various health issues, some more serious than others, but he told me then that I wasn't improving and in fact some of the key indicators where going in the wrong direction. When he told me I needed to lose nearly 40 pounds, I laughed because I thought it would be impossible. But inside, I was crying because I knew he was serious, and I knew I needed to make a change.
So that day, I decided to join a gym. I even had one picked out. It was right around the corner from my house and on my way home from work. It was even open 24x7. Perfect!! But, my wife Jen, had just started working out at home in the basement two weeks prior with P90X. I had seen the informercials on TV but didn't believe I could come close to completing a program like that. It looked pretty intense.
I was sure Jen would try it but then realize that it was too much. Two weeks later she was still getting up at 5am everyday to workout and she was getting great results. So, I decided to join her doing P90X instead of joining the gym.
When I first started, I tried to follow the workout routines and nutrition plan as best as I could. Some days I just didn’t feel like it or was too tired or too hungry to not "cheat". Plus it was summer time and picnic season. I didn't quite "get it" yet so I hadn't fully committed to following the complete P90X nutrition plan. I thought I could eat pretty good and get GREAT results! WRONG!! LOL...
I was definitely eating better than I had been and was able to follow along with the workout routines for the most part, even though they were hard and sometimes seemingly impossible to complete...LOL. But, Jen motivated me. My kids motivated me. Tony Horton definitely motivated me. And I had a strong desire to be a stronger and healthier person. I kept at it day after day one day at a time, and I got better each time. If, I missed a day, I moved on and did the next day's routine. Sometimes I would do doubles to catch up or catch up on my next rest day.
Before I knew it, 90 days was done and I had lost 21 lbs. (207 lbs to 186 lbs) and I felt stronger, had more energy, slept better and in general felt like I had an extra hop in my step. I was convinced that I needed to continue doing P90X!
Since then I lost an additional 27 lbs and got as low as 159 lbs., but since have gained 14 back and weigh a chiseled 173 lbs. at 9% body fat! In a word, I feel AWESOME!!!
Why do I like P90X so much? I love working out from home, it costs less and is quicker than going to a gym. It's also easier plus my whole family is involved. Having my kids workout with me is amazing fun. And the bottom line is it works!
My wife is working out and I have other friends who are working out as well. So while we all work out independently, we talk, chat, email and meet on FB to motivate and challenge each other! The workout is challenging and fun! The muscle confusion and nutrition element that Tony Horton has added really works too! This program has really helped me change my bad health habits into good health habits.
I don't see myself ever stopping! I'm fully on board and committed to P90X and Beachbody and believe the system that they have created can help anyone.
What's your goal? Do you want to lose 25 lbs? How about 125? Do you have a reunion coming up? A wedding? A 5K race? A marathon? Or do you just want to feel better and have more energy?
Whatever your goal is, write it down then with a plan, some guidance and determination you can achieve it. Beachbody has devised the plan and I can offer you guidance. The determination comes from within you!
If you're ready to find out "what if" and just aren't ready to try it alone...hit me up...I'll be glad to help ya!! I have a team of peeps in a private FB group page where we mingle and talk health and wellness and cheer each other on and motivate each other...it's fun!

I started my first round of P90X on 5/4/2010 and weighed 201 lbs (I'm 6'2") and lost 15 lbs.
I started my second round of P90X on 11/15/2010 after doing a half round of P90X+ and my own hybrid workout. 30 days in I partially tore a ligament in my left thumb so had to stop working out for six weeks.
I restarted round 2 on 1/29/2011 and lost another 16 lbs. to weigh in at 170 lbs...exactly where my doctor wanted me to be.
I did a round of Insanity Asylum and lost no weight but went from 8.9% BF to 6.7% BF, which means I added a net 4 lbs of lean muscle in 30 days with Asylum!! I met all my goals doing Asylum of which adding stamina and strength were my top two.
I am currently doing Round 3 of P90X with a weighted vest during all the workouts except Yoga X and Kenpo X. My goal is to add 5-10 lbs of muscle while improving stamina and strength.
I will be starting my second round of Asylum on September 5, 2011.
