Let me tell you about my fitness journey. When I graduated college in 1994, my best friend and I joined a gym and began working out. At the time, 23 years old and we both saw results pretty quickly. We're young and full of energy and naturally got results. Over time, he moved to another state but I continued working out. Working out alone, I would have times were I lose my focus and not go to the gym, and then times when I would be dedicated to the gym.
Fast forward to 2007. I saw a picture of myself and realized at that point in time, I needed help. I had been going to the gym regularly but not getting the results I wanted. The first step I took was to join a weight loss program (who will remain nameless, but the went out of business and just recently started up again). Following their diet and working out, I was able to lose 75 pounds in just over 6 months. I intentionally put some of the weight back on because i found I had found without the weight, I had lost my power stroke in softball (and I love playing softball).
In 2008 I began a new job, lost some of the focus on my nutrition and workout program and put some unwanted weight back on. At the time a friend of mine was doing P90X and was telling me how great it was. I thought to myself, "come on these are workout DVDs how hard can they be." Then I began seeing the Insanity infomercial. It looked different and I thought, "I'm gonna order this and try it out and prove how easy it is." Needless to say after the Fit Test alone I was proven wrong. I still remember during the first week of Insanity, Shaun T called out some move, and I said to the television, "This guy is f'ing insane...oh now I get it."
After completing Insanity, I had to try P90X. Then I fell in love with that program. Over time I found myself ordering P90X+, ChaLean Extreme, Asylum, and now P90X2. I've found that I love working out with the DVDs, and now Tony, Shaun and Chalene feel like old friends. I've cancelled my membership at the gym and my fitness life is dedicated to Beachbody.
