I began the P90X program originally to rehab my ankle, well my whole body really, from my accident. The physical therapy that I was given was pretty useless. I started the program at 225 lbs. The doctors had me on cholesterol medication, I had acid reflux and I was checking my blood sugar on a daily basis.
The first round was absolutely torture, but I was down to 190 lbs. More importantly I was getting some movement in my ankle and was almost able to touch my toes. I thought, if I can just keep this up, I may just be able to walk again without a limp. I was already off the medication for both issues and blood sugar was back to normal.
Let round two begin. More movement and more limber. Plus as a bonus, I lost five more pounds. You see the first two years I did not follow the nutrition part of the program to strictly. I did change my eating habits and what I was eating. But I was not counting calories, protein, carbs & fat. Now after several rounds of P90X, P90X+ , mixing in the One on One Series and following the nutrition plan perfectly. I am now at 170 lbs, 13% body fat, 99% movement in my ankle, absolutely no pain in my leg and my blood work is perfect!!!!
What I have come to realize is that this not a 90 day program, it is a way of life. It is a lifestyle that I will never ever change. I love the way I feel and being healthy. I owe it all to Tony Horton & Beachbody.
