Always suffered with R knee issues.Moved to AR to finish nursing school and met my hubby. So 2007 my R knee finally gave up.Had surgery on it. Gained weight. Tried various diets trying to get weight off. Got married, got comfortable with my extra 40 pound i had gained. Felt like crap !!! Finished nursing school, was working on the Trauamatic Brain Injury and Spinal cord injury floor. So one day was helping a patient move from wheelchair to her bed and she basically decided to not move and fell on top of me did i mention she was about 5ft tall and 450 pounds. Needless to say this is where my spine got blown out. Up to this point i had been exercising,so had an annular tear in my disc at l4-l5. Had multiple spinal epidural steroid injections to avoid surgery. 2008 L4-L5 laminectomy. I gained 15 pound back i had lost. Continue pain, lots of pain, and NO exercise due to pain. Welcome to the world of depression, working night shift and eating like crap. Welcome 25 extra pounds. The heaviest i had been, pushing that 200 pound breaking point. So a year goes by,more pain, more pain pills and less exercise. Enter to 2009 found out L5-S1 annular tear throuh disc. More steroid injections !!!! Then finally 2010 L4-S1 lumbar fusion with hardware. Think spinal errector set or wolverine spine. Through a 4 hour surgery got 2 titanium rods with 6 screws and 2 bone grafts in my spine. SPent 8 days in the hospital and got a blood transfusion. Life SUCKED !!!!!!! Got very depressed at this point. Then yes theres more, 2011 my gallbladder decides to go kaput, have to have that removed. Then 6 months later have a huge tumor that pops up on my back, Had to have that removed. Finally make it to 2012, needless to say things have been rough. Through all this tried to use my elliptical, walk and do other things to at least get some weight off. Lost most of the weight i gained from being soooo extremly sick with my gallbladder, most days couldnt eat more than a can of chicken noodle soup without getting violently sick. Felt awful, tired all the time and didnt care to work out. Did get down to 147 pounds ..... Flash to this year.. was trying to get myself back into shape, started to jog and walk or elliptical most days for at least 45 min. Pain in my back returned and i got really scared that another disc had ruptured. Thankfully no further damage but hardware was resting on nerves causing pain. SO Feburary 24 of this year had all my hardware removed. This is around the time i met my coach Quen SPencer, im convinced God placed him in my life at this low point. I was again overweight and depressed about my situation. After talking with him and sharing my desperation to get my body back in shape and to be happy and healthy he met with my husband and i and we decided to start Les Mills Pump. May 1 2012 was the start of a new chapter in my life. A turning point. My husband and I relearned to eat to fule our bodies to be healthy. My spine surgeon gave me a clean bill and allowed me to start working out again. In our first 30 days of LMP i lost 7.1 pounds and began to see my body changing in ways that it had not in the past. We are on day 48 of LMP as of today, and i can say i am happier, and healther than i have been in a very long time. I am so thankful for all the people in my life and a second chance to regain my body. Through my Team Impact and Beastmode support groups and my husband i can make it throuh anything. My spine and my spirit are stronger than ever and i CAN do this. So never let anyone tell you due to an injury you will never be able to exercise again or never be able to do this or that. I am a product of hard work and determination. Never and Cant are not in my vocabulary anymore. I can i will and i do, KIA KAHA , be strong all my beachbody team and push your body to the point you didnt think was possible. You can do it if you want it, if you put in the work and take charge of your life. Embrace the Challenge Programs Meal plan: Your current meal plan is: Low-Carb Express at 1500 calories.
