California. I'm currently a full-time student in college. On my spare time,
what little I have these days, I enjoy writing poetry, studying french, jogging,
and surfing. I absolutely love surfing! When I'm not at home sweating
to Turbo Jam or in class, I'm usally in the ocean catching waves! I spent most
of my in life Northern California, mostly San Francisco and Lake Tahoe. Santa
Barbara is a nice change from San Francisco because it has a small town feel
which reminds me of Lake Tahoe where I grew up. I have always been a active
and healthy person but I started gaining weight when I returned to college.
I found myself eating unhealthy food/snacks at night while studying or
dashing around campus from class to class during the day. I would sit at my
desk with a bag of chips or a few slices of pizza and eat while I studied at
night. I even skipped meals at times, so when I finally did eat - I stuffed
myself because I was starving. Unfortunately, food became my stress
reliever.. until one day I looked into the mirror and barely recognized myself!
In the mirror was a sad, stressed, and over weight person... I
realized from that moment on I had to change my unhealthy lifestyle.
Turbo Jam has helped put me back on track. Now, I snack on healthy foods
when I'm hungry and If I crave sweets or chips I eat veggies or drink water
instead. Plus, I make a habit of working out after I finsh my studies to relieve
stress and I refuse to eat anything after 7pm! I believe the key to staying
healthy and losing weight is consistency. Consistency in watching what you
eat and drink everyday. Consistency in making exercise a priority in your life,
not just an after thought but a true passion! Exercise should be fun as well as
rewarding! A beautiful, vibrant, and passionate young lady (Chalene Johnson)
once said , " If exercising isn't fun, you won't do it." and I couldn't agree more
so I keep pressing play!
