I started at a staggering 220 pounds at age 18. My mother was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor when I was 11 years old. I started at a staggering 220 pounds at age 18. My mother was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor when I was 11 years old. Because I was the epitome of a mama's girl, I shut down. Being a child, my weight didn't really effect me until my teenage years, which followed with tenacious teasing and a glum outlook on life. I decided I needed to do something and shape up! Not only was my health at risk, but my self-confidence was at an all time low. I ate because I was depressed, and I was depressed because I ate.
I decided to make a change for the better, and improve my health at the same time. After starting a Beach Body program, I started to see results within the first week. I literally worked my butt off! My attitude improved and things were looking up. Now, at age 24, I couldn't be happier with the person I am, both inside and out. I feel like I can achieve anything, because let's face it, losing weight is a very difficult thing to do. Now, at a healthy 140 pounds at 5'7," I look and feel amazing.
