Personally, I have surpassed the goals that I made in the beginning. I set forth to find the shortest distance from point A to point B. In 129 days, I lost 50 lbs. and am down to 8.4% Body Fat. Now, I have 8.4% body fat, jogging at least 3 miles at a time, and loving every workout. : ) Yes it is real fun to be strong. Also, I eat salads, veggie plates, fruits, certain meats, whole grains and skim milk every day. I am 26 and I am in the best shape of my life! What we have in common? I was into sports and pretty active until I got into high school. Never was in great shape by any means, but active nonetheless. I chose to pursue music instead of athletics, while still keeping the same eating habits. By the time I graduated high school at the age of 17, I was up 10 or 20 pounds.(probably around 170-180) Got married right out of high school to my high school sweetheart. My job at the time was a fast food manager. What a rut I was digging for myself there! Way too much temptation. I started buying everything off of infomercials to try to "quick fix" my fat butt. I tried from abrockers, ab zappers, ab lounge, all the way to the $$$ side, the Bowflex(Ultimate). Now most of these things will do what they say they will do, but you've got to USE THEM!!! Still would take a long while to get any nice results. After nearly 9 years of marriage to my wonderful wife, two great kids, and 7 or 8 years of dust piling on top of my workout equipment, I FINALLY SAW THE LIGHT!!! Sorry for being over dramatic, but looking back, that's what it was like. I was up really late with my, at the time, 1 month old son and one of his 2 a.m. feedings and came across "Get Ripped in 90 Days". Well, there was nothing else on and heck, why not watch other people sweat, right? I thought it would be like all of the other "morning workout shows" where everybody made everything look effortless. WRONG! These people were working and getting after it. Struggling even. At first, I was like, there's no way I'm going to put myself through that, heh. Then, I saw the same commercial on another channel and I thought about it. These people aren't trying to put up a front and trying to sell me on how easy it is. They're actually putting the truth out there for me to see. If I want true results, I've got to BRING IT! I GOT HOOKED! Seeing real people really sweating and working there bums off It started to get me super motivated. So, I made the commitment and purchased P90X. Haven't stop pushing play yet! I'm changing my family tree. My sons will not grow up in a household with twinkies and ho ho's and a TV in every room. Heck I wasn't even through with my first 90 days, and I was seeing more and more people around me change for the better. I noticed that they were eating better, not trying to find the nearest parking spot, and actually starting workout programs. A lot of them have joined me in my journey to rippedness. Is that a word? LOL Now, I'm in the best shape of my life. And I have something to look forward to, because tomorrow I'll be in the best shape of my life and the next and next and next...
