weymouth, MA Let me just start by saying that I am not naturally athletic. I did play some pick up street hockey or mess around with friends playing baseball or softball, but nobody would ever call me athletic.
I was always referred to as that short chubby guy. My diet, which was based on the food groups pizza, chinese food, sweets, and beer, could only be described as an atrocity. At a shade over Let me just start by saying that I am not naturally athletic. I did play some pick up street hockey or mess around with friends playing baseball or softball, but nobody would ever call me athletic.
I was always referred to as that short chubby guy. My diet, which was based on the food groups pizza, chinese food, sweets, and beer, could only be described as an atrocity. At a shade over 5'6" and weighing 215 lbs. it wasn't a pretty sight.
( My before picture is me at about 195 lbs, after six months of weightlifting/running. I currently weigh in between 175-185, depending on how strict I am on my diet. )
I went through periods of trying to make changes. I joined a gym a couple times, tried jogging, and bought every piece of fitness crap that was advertised on late night t.v., only to be disappointed in the lack of results, get discouraged, and quit. My bowflex, Weider weight bench, and ab-rocker are still in the basement gathering dust.
The first time I saw the P90X commercial I was blown away. I had never seen anything like it before. Here were these people, not fitness models, not professional athletes, but just regular everyday folks doing these incredibly difficult workouts. I was hooked.
It took me quite a number of starts and stops to get through even one week of P90X, but I never quit. I can remember how jacked I was when I could do ONE WHOLE PULL-UP with no help.
I've since had my little periods of slipping into bad eating habits. But since I added Shakeology into my diet, my cravings for sweets have all but vanished.
I made the commitment to the BeachBody lifestyle. Shakeology every day for breakfast, a workout everyday at noontime, results and recovery after every workout.
My eating is very clean and I have never felt better.
It's funny, when I was growing up I was always one of the most out of shape ones in the group, but now, no matter what group I'm in, I can be counted among the fittest.

After getting some pretty great results with P90X I made the mistake of thinking that I was finished with my fitness journey. I slipped back into poor eating habits. Even though I was exercising regularly I put on weight. I gained 15 lbs. from Thanksgiving to the end of January.
I'm using Insanity to slim down and then I'm going right back into P90X. I want to be lean and chiseled by summer time.
After P90X I'm going to continue on through as many of the BeachBody extreme workouts as I can.
Fitness is a lifestyle for me, from this day forward.
