Hello I am jessica and I just became a Beach Body coach. I recently graduated from California State University Fullerton this May with a bachelors in Kinesiology (the study of how the body moves). I am a personal trainer/ fitness instructor at a physical therapy clinic and I love helping others get fit and stay fit. Living healthy is a lifestyle, but were only human!!

Growing up soccer was my life, I knew nothing else. I played for 15 years. Most weeks I had practiced 3 times for 3 hours and had tournaments on the weekends (which consists of two games a day). This was an easy way to keep in shape without having to watch what I ate. My matabolism was kickin' and so were the calories. I never thought it would catch up too me, although my parents warned me.

At age 18, right before I entered college with a scholarship i suffered a knee injury. Since soccer was my identity and i could no longer play, depression came into my life. Unfortunately I did not change my eating habits, nor could I workout until my knee had healed. Within a year and a half i gained thirty pounds and was even more unhappy with myself.

As soon as I began College and started learning about the body, i began working at a Physical Therapy clinic / Wellness center. I was given all the tools to turn my life around. And I did!!! I lost 25 pounds and was ripped for my wedding in July 12, 2008.

I started teaching Hour of Powers classes a year ago which include weight lifting, plyometrics, cardio, and isometrics, etc. (all in one class). I am strict on maintaining form so muscles correctly build the way they should, instead of compensating and strengthening what is already strong.

Although I have all these tools to succeed, I still struggle. Weight fluctuation is my biggest down fall. Currently I have gained some weight back because of some family issues, but my main goal is too overcome my bad eating habits and to live a consistent healthy lifestyle.

Now that I have identified where I need to focus. I think working with others will help. Even tho I know what I have to do... I am used to being a part of a team and staying fit solo is hard. A part from my own struggles, I am here to help those struggling their own battles.
