A bit more about me: I love running and yoga and keeping up with the kids. This is what my days are all about. My kids are grown and out of the house which has left me with a lot of alone time that I am not used to. This has been hard for me. So I really like the workout buddies here in Team Beachbody -- i need that because otherwise i am working out completely alone and that's not so good for me right now. so thanks, all, for sweating along and keeping me motivated! I have also struggled through an achilles injury that left me lethargic and eye surgery that left me with horrible vision and a nagging depression. So in an attempt to heal, and to feel empowered and strong, I started P90X in Feb '09. After working hard and growing stronger, I am now running again and smiling again and sharing the passion with friends and family. I have now become a Team Beachbody Coach and can't WAIT to meet more people with the same love of fitness!! I'll keep checking in to update the progress, because with Beachbody, there are no limits, there are only barriers to cross.
In the meantime, let's BRING IT!

Most of my life I have tried to stay fit and active, but was always trying to lose "5 or 10 pounds". I spent a lot of time unhappy with how I looked, so I would diet too much, then lose all my energy and then fall face first into a gallon of ice cream. Repeat cycle day after day, year after year. Yo-yo-yo-yo. Eventually, I gave up trying to lose weight and started to focus on my energy levels. i started eating more and running and even signed up for some races.I gained about 5 pounds, but could keep running for more than 20 minutes. I loved how I felt, even if I still didn't like how I looked.
But over the last year I've had some physical and personal battles to face which have left me a little beaten down and depressed, which led to a lethargic lifestyle. i tore my achilles and i couldn't run so i sat on my butt. i lost my desire to eat healthy so i chowed down on junk while sitting on my butt. Then, because i felt so fat and gross, i sat on my butt some more, withdrew from relationships and ate more junk just to really prove i was no longer fit and healthy. Stupid, i know, but it just becomes such a vicious cycle. So i started p90x lean on Feb 7 '09 to give me a way to feel like i was really working out while still hovering near the couch. I grumbled through the first week, resigned myself to the second week, and by the third week, feeling stronger, I embraced it as part of my daily routine. My achilles became less painful, and my leg strength returned. I felt better protected from injury, which spurred me to venture onto the bike once in a while too, and eventually to try running again. I did heal, slowly, and I finally feel like a runner again, having run 26.2 in Indianapolis this fall '09! I am now working out to P90x, TurboJam, and yoga, as well as running 20-30 miles a week. I still want to lose "5 more pounds", and maybe that will come next. Or maybe it won't, but that is ok too.
Because I know that even though P90X is intended for 90 days, i am looking at a much bigger picture. i want to feel energetic and athletic. i want to be proud of my body -- not just how it looks, but more about what it can do - its strength and speed and posture and fitness. And that is a process to enjoy for a lifetime.
