I first tried P90X a couple of years ago to get into better shape; however, I was not committed to the program. I let myself be satisfied with doing it 3-4 times a week to start and made excuses to not do more. I wasn’t gaining a bunch of weight so I didn’t think too much about it. My clothes still fit, although they were getting tight, so I didn’t feel a need to change my lifestyle. At the beginning of 2012 I noticed a big decrease in my fitness level. As an active mom and snowboarder I was slowing down, I was more fatigued and my mood was heading downhill fast. By April of 2012 I hit bottom and I needed a complete change, so my boyfriend and I committed to starting the with the Ultimate Reset after the May long weekend. I have a lot of food allergies and intolerances, many of which were vegetables, so I was very worried about the diet that was needed to do the reset. At first it was very hard to change my diet and find enough food to eat during the day. Having someone to do the reset with was definitely the support that I needed. Once I figured it out my post-reset diet I began to feel amazing. My body felt better, healthier, more balanced and my mood and energy level improved with it. I lost 12lbs during the reset I went from 150lbs to 138lbs. Now it was time for some really hard work and my body was ready for it.

The next step was a 90 day program of P90X/Insanity Hybrid. As I sweated my way through the 90 days, I could watch my shape changing. My clothes were baggy and I was replacing flabby parts with firm muscle. At the end of the program my weight had not changed much, but my measurements and body did. I have maintained a modified vegetarian diet with supplements. Currently, I am doing P90X2 and I am loving it. At this point I can see more muscle with every workout and I have gained a lot of strength and stamina. My weight is slowly decreasing, and the inches are coming off as I have been working away at some of the long time tenants occupying my trouble spots.

When I committed to being healthier and more physically fit I knew it would take time and hard work to get to that goal. I love being able to keep up with my boys and I am hopefully teaching them the importance of making healthy choices.
